What changes when a triathlete becomes a dad?

For Jim, the sport hasn’t become any less important. But the reasons behind it have evolved.

The early mornings mean a little more. The finish lines are shared. The time spent training has to be earned.

As the owner of SLS3 and a father of two, Jim reflects on how fatherhood has reshaped his relationship with triathlon while reinforcing the values that drew him to the sport in the first place.

What Makes a Triathlete? Episode 2: Father’s Day Edition ❤️

Happy Father’s Day to all the incredible dads out there.

Not every race goes to plan. That’s what makes the comeback meaningful.

After Oceanside, Liam Morales went back to work. At Ironman 70.3 Boulder, that work turned into a 35-minute personal best.

A tough swim didn’t shake him. The bike was fast. The run got done.

On to the next one. Ironman Florida awaits.

Escape from Alcatraz as your second triathlon is certainly one way to do it.

audrie naranjo recently took on one of the sport’s most iconic races, tackling the swim from Alcatraz Island, the hills of San Francisco, and the famous Sand Ladder.

A bucket-list race for many. Another finish line in the books for her. 🙌

Congratulations, Audrie!

This is what the training is for. 🙌

, and .w8 out at the Ft. DeSoto Triathlon, all racing in SLS3 and getting to enjoy the payoff from the hours they’ve put in behind the scenes.

One of the best parts of triathlon is sharing the experience with people who understand the early mornings, training sessions, and race-day nerves.

Love seeing all three of them out there getting it done 💪🔥

Same course. Same suit. Different athlete.

A year ago crossed the finish line at Ironman 70.3 Cap Cana. This year he came back and took 37 minutes off his time.

That’s the thing about endurance sports. Progress never happens overnight. It’s built through months of early mornings, consistent training, sacrifices, doubts, setbacks, and showing up anyway.

The finish line only tells part of the story. The real work happened in all the days between his first Cap Cana and this one.

37 minutes faster. One year stronger. 💪

A 5150 finish line hits differently when there’s a family waiting for you on the other side 🙌
miranda92 recently raced a 5150 triathlon while balancing training, work, and life as a dad.

The race lasted a few hours. The preparation took months.

Proof that dedication doesn’t stop when life gets busier- it just gets more meaningful.
