We wrapped up our University Area CDC Prodigy Cultural Arts Program Relief Printing summer camp week with a Gallery Showcase put together by our campers for friends and family. Everything looked amazing and guests got to learn about all the print techniques their children explored during the week, try their hand at linocut, and see the laser cutter in action. Congratulations to all these great young artists!

Day 3 of our University Area CDC Prodigy Cultural Arts Program program took on the hardest thing yet - learning how to participate in constructive critiques! Learning how to give and get useful feedback though, is an incredibly valuable set of skills to learn.
Students also wrapped up 3D printed stamp designs - starting with a great tutorial on how 3D printing actually works - finalized their linocut art, and worked on their linocut image transfers, so they could start carving their designs.
Tomorrow, final relief print projects get carved, inked and rolled and the group readies for their Showcase Gallery Exhibit for friends and family on Friday!

Barry Wong of FOX 13 News - Tampa Bay joined us this morning, to cover our Prodigy Cultural Arts Program Relief Printing Summer Camp. Helping tell the story were Mr. Ron Bradford of the University Area CDC and Ms. Vicky Gonzalez, AMROC's Operations Director and lead camp instructor, along with a few of our campers.
The rest of the day was spent exploring art from reverse perspectives, with some "upside down drawing" exercises and using Tinkercad to design some 3D printed stamps. Campers also got some shop time cutting the wood bases for the small paint palettes each student is making.
Then we looked at a variety of famous lino and block print art, and they started planning their own lino pieces they'll be working on Wednesday.
Check out comments for a few resources from today's sessions to bring some fresh artistic perspectives into your life.

The first day of our Prodigy Cultural Arts Program Relief Printing camp was fun and colorful! Campers explored and made some anthotypes and linocut prints, and learned color theory basics.
Next up: learning to use some shop tools to make their own palettes, intro to 3D printing, and planning out their lino or block print projects. Check out the comments for some of the resources we used today.
The CANDO-Caribbean American National Development Organization, Inc. Caribbean Heritage festival last Saturday was such a great celebration of such a wonderful community, one that we're happy and proud to be part of!
