Compass Ministries
We are a grassroots missionary care organization providing pastoral care and mental health services to missionary families worldwide.
Our vision is to build a missionary care center in the Tampa Bay Area and be a welcoming place for missionary families Our mission is to provide emotional, social and spiritual support and encouragement to missionaries and their children at no cost to them. Research suggests that quality Member Care reduces the risk of burn-out in cross-cultural workers. Compass Ministry is based in Tampa/St. Pete
Our World of Hope Fundraising Campaign continues throughout May. We have raised $65,000 in the first half of the month, and we want to finish the month strong by raising another twenty thousand dollars. These funds will be used to 1. Increase capacity to provide mental health services to missionary families; 2. Expand the Ruth House Program; and, 3. Open and start operations at our Men's residential discipleship home. Would you consider partnering with us to achieve these goals and raise twenty thousand dollars by the end of May?

Live Life with MKs- Ruth HouseđźŹ
Struggles and troubles are inevitable in life, but Jesus reminds us to rely on Him instead of fighting alone (John 16:33). However, Missionary kids (MKs) often struggle with self-reliance, which is both a unique gift and burden.
Stability and consistency in the first 18 years of a child’s life are crucial for healthy mental state and self-esteem. However, MKs often face changes due to mission work and cultural dynamics in their parents’ serving countries. They must learn to survive, fit in, and adapt from a young age, developing self-reliance and social masks to thrive.
Creating a safe environment with intentional relationships can help MKs find ways to piece together their divided selves. We can demonstrate that they don’t need to hide parts of themselves because they’re still loved and accepted as God’s beloved children. Our presence and support can help them learn to surrender by receiving help and sharing burdens together. Ruth House, with its discipleship mind like Jesus, fosters healing and growth for MKs, preparing them for their journey after returning to the states.

Join us for the Missionary Men’s Breakfast, a gathering where we come together as brothers to share our journeys and support one another in faith. This isn’t just another meeting; it’s an opportunity to dive deep into what it means to transition back home after the mission field, even years later. We’ll engage in meaningful prayer, listen to stories of resilience, and explore the challenges that come with adjusting to life back in our communities. This breakfast is about genuine connection and spiritual brotherhood—an honest conversation about finding purpose after our adventures and walking alongside each other in our faith.
