Blessed Beltane!

This is one of my favorite pendulum board designs.

I used to make this design in raw wood form only because, in most things (designs, creations, whatever, really), I tend to be drawn to the classic styles. There's something so energetically pleasing about holding wood in your hands, smelling the slight smokey essence left behind from the etching...

But then...

A few years ago, I had a request from someone asking if I could make the board in black. I explained I couldn't do pure black wood, but I could use a black MDF (medium-density fiberboard, which is a breakdown of wood into fine fiber and compressed) and engrave the symbols and images into that, and they said, "Well, let's try it!" The outcome? A dramatic board that brought it's own special kind of energy into play.

One image, two very different outcomes. Which are your drawn to? Classic wood or dramatic black?

So, I've had this image in my head for a year or so.

I've wanted to make a statement wall art piece with The Morrigan, and I think it's time.

I envision mountains and a stormy sea, a sort of muted landscape, with The Morrigan's Cape being a focal point of bright red...

Would it surprise you to know I talk to my products a little while I’m making them? Not full conversations (usually ;-) ), but just quiet commentary like “this one feels good” or “not today.” It helps me slow down, pay attention, and connect with what I'm making.

Also, I’ve scrapped more ideas than I’ve actually finished. If something feels off, I’d rather start over than push it through; I don't think that sort of energy helps anyone.

And yes… everything gets used in my own routine first. Not just on special days, but regular life too. If it doesn’t fit into 'life,' it doesn’t make it to the site.🖤

When I work, my favorite thing to listen to is nature.

It doesn't matter if it's a rainstorm, the birds in my backyard, the squirrels rustling through the leaves...

Nature definitely fills me and sparks my creativity!

We were playing this solitaire/two-player Fox & Geese game at the local brewery, and the family next to us asked if they could play a round.

Of course we said "Yes," and we ended up coming home without it 😅

It's a favorite at our house, especially during the BBQing season, so it's a good thing I can make another!

I've been working with the moon a lot lately, and it made me think about how many ways there are to harness her different energies during the specific phases and how overwhelming it can be.

If there was a kit/bundle specific to the different phases of the moon, would that be of any interest to people? I'm thinking crystals, herbs, a few ideas of rituals... something like that.

I wanted to share this as an example of how a small space can be used and be just as effective as a big spread.

This particular space is on a small side table, and is geared toward supporting the root chakra, which I have been working on in my practice.

No one even notices it, but if I feel like I need to, I can quickly remove the image of Ganesha from its stand and slide it in between two books and take the tea light holder and pop it into a drawer. Nothing to see here 😅
