The Florida Legislature has passed a proposal that would significantly reduce local property taxes, the primary source of funding for public libraries throughout our state. This issue will now move to Florida voters in November.

At this stage, our work shifts to public awareness. We encourage you to share local stories, data, and examples that show how your library serves your community. These stories matter. They help residents, local leaders, and community partners understand the value of library services. They are essential infrastructure for education, economic opportunity, access to information, and community resilience.
