Point Defiance Marina
The Marina is located in Point Defiance Park and has been putting people on the water since 1903! Point Defiance Marina is a facility of Parks Tacoma.
We offer boat rentals, pier fishing, a public boat launch, a tackle and gift shop, and a waterfront walk. Please be aware your comments are subject to public disclosure laws and will be screened periodically for the following:

There're a few days left of June salmon fishing in Area 11! Bring your catch into the Boathouse Store to have it weighed and enter into the Just for Fun Fishing Derby.
Derby is open to all anglers, ages, and skill levels!
If you are interested in participating in the June Derby:
🛥 Area 11 is open for salmon fishing 7 days a week, until June 30 or quota is met.
⚓ Chinook minimum size is 22” - other salmon species, no min. size.
🎏 Daily limit is 2, can retain 2 hatchery Chinook. Release chum and wild chinook.
To participate in the derby: catch a legal salmon, bring your fish to the Marina Store, have it weighed and receive a Derby Ticket, then get ready to win prizes!
There will be a biggest fish winner as well as 2 randomized winners for a hat & T-shirt or sweatshirt.

🦀 Crabbing in Marine Area 11 is scheduled to be open July 5 through August 17 on SUNDAYS & MONDAYS only.
🌊 The daily limit throughout the Puget Sound Management Area is five Dungeness crab, males only, in hard-shell condition with a minimum carapace width of 6 1/4 inches. Fishers may also keep six red rock crab of either s*x per day in open areas, provided the crab are in hard-shell condition and measure at least five inches carapace width. Crabbers must release all soft-shelled crabs and all Dungeness crab females to support population health.
⚓ All recreational crabbers 16 years or older must carry a current Washington fishing license. Puget Sound crabbers are required to record their harvest of Dungeness crab on their CRC/eCRC immediately after retaining the crab and before re-deploying crabbing gear. A separate CRC/eCRC is issued for the summer and winter seasons.

🚨 Marine Area 11 Salmon Update 🚨
Per WDFW Salmon Fishing Blog: The Marine Area 11 (Tacoma and Vashon Island Area) hatchery Chinook daily limit will be increased to two beginning Thursday, June 18 through June 30.
