The City of Puyallup will be hosting a CERT Train-the-Trainer in January. Puyallup’s West Pierce Fire has a phenomenal CERT Program.
CERT stands for Community Emergency Response Team. The CERT Program covers basic skills that are important to know in a disaster. A host of topics are covered such as search & rescue, medical ops, fire safety, disaster psychology – overall ways to prepare & recover from disasters. Individuals can sign up to take CERT Basic; if they complete CERT Basic, they have the option of joining a CERT Team to work as a community volunteer. We will be hosting a CERT Basic Course in March 2023. Info can be found at www.cityofpuyallup.org/cert. Please let me know if you have any questions and thanks for your time. And Happy New Year!
