Promoting the wellness, recovery and resilience of adults experiencing disabilities in Pierce County. All services are provided free of charge.

TACID (Tacoma Area Coalition of Individuals with Disabilities) is a peer led and directed nonprofit. TACID serves adults experiencing a spectrum of physical, cognitive, developmental, sensory, mental and bevavioral health disabilities and challenges. Guided by the principles of Intentional Peer Support, TACID services include peer support groups, wellness activities, information and referrals, and opportunities for inclusive recreation and community.

Hello Friends and Followers! If you, a friend, a family member or someone you provide care for comes to TACID on Mondays, we have an important announcement. Beginning on Monday, July 6, 2026, TACID will be open from 9:30AM-1:00PM. Since Monday afternoons are generally quiet, closing early will give staff members time to do the important administrative work that keeps TACID up and running. Thank you for understanding and we hope to see you soon! ❤️

Greetings Friends and Followers! today we're posting to tell you about the upcoming Project Homeless Connect Event on June 23rd from 11AM-3PM at Our Lady Queen of Heaven, 14601 A St S Tacoma, WA 98444. There will be a wide range of valuable resources and essential services available to support community members currently experiencing homelessness. Services will include Coordinated Entry, giveaways, free lunch for attendees, emergency dental care (9AM-2PM), support for Veterans, an on-site DSHS Mobile Unit, healthcare enrollment, access to showers, and much more. Greetings! Today we want to say "Thank YOU" to everyone who donated to TACID during GiveBIG 2026. We're excited to tell you that we raised $6,700, and with the $5,000 match, we raised a total of $11,700! We're very grateful for our community and your generosity! ❤️

Mental Health Awareness Night 05/12/2026

Greetings Friends and Followers! May is Mental Health Awareness month and there are a lot of things happening in Pierce County. One of them is a special mental health awareness night hosted by the Tacoma Rainiers. A portion of the ticket sales for the Rainiers game scheduled for Thursday, May 28th, will directly support mental health initiatives in the Pierce County. Greetings Friends and Followers! Today, we're sending out a big "Thank You" to all the vendors who participated in our 3rd Annual Disability Resource Fair on May 2nd. It was a great event with 18 organizations, services and support groups on-site to answer questions and share resources. We're happy to report we had over 90 attendees this year. If you were one of them, Thank you for stopping by! We also want to acknowledge our hardworking leader in organizing the event—Sam Aiello— and all the staff, board and community volunteers—Tawnia, Allison, Lauren, Lisa, Gen, Vivie, Khalila, Matt, Cheryl, Tan, and Sean. Thank you for helping us set-up, for representing TACID, and for cleaning up. We hope to see you again next year!❤️
