Obviously doing the actual photoshoot is my favorite part of being a photographer but ohhh do I love a good edit sesh 🥰 Can we also just talk about how cute a little red bow on a chestnut b***y is?! 🎀

When I edit, I’m not just adjusting colors. I’m deepening the shadows, softening the tones, bringing out that rich chestnut, and making sure little details (like that red bow 🥹❤️) actually stand out the way they deserve to. And probably most importantly, I edit out what’s not necessary! Handlers for the spicy mares, random horses in the pasture, poo piles, all the fun stuff.

The goal is always the same: make it feel exactly how it felt in that moment —> timeless 🤎

A timeless escape…

Often when I photograph, I get “the” shot. However, it’s never expected. We got done with black background portraits, we were cold but still had more shots to take. Turned the barn lights off, was walking down the aisle to take some photos outside, and there I saw it.

Just a horse, standing in a dark aisle, looking out at the view. Looking out at the timeless escape.

I mean… how could you not smile at this? 🎄🐎
