Our Mission
We feed people spirit, soul and body; using food distribution and supplying material necessities to break down As John and Leigh Ann build relationships with Chronically homeless individuals they identify and meet the unique needs of the homeless people not yet ready to leave the streets and who refuse to stay in emergency shelters. Dale Wittwer Obituary (1952 - 2026) - Syr, NY - Syracuse Post Standard 06/17/2026

Every friend we meet through In My Fathers Kitchen has a family, a story, and a journey that brought them to where they are today.

It is both an honor and a privilege to walk alongside our friends, to listen, to learn, and to hear the stories behind the signs, behind the campsites, and behind the struggles that so many never see.

Today, we say goodbye to one of those friends. While the world may have overlooked you, we never did.

You mattered. You were loved. You were seen.

We will miss you, our friend.

You are not Invisible

Leigh-Ann and I are currently on sabbatical for the next 10 days, but the mission never stops.

Today, we’re incredibly grateful for Shelly Frank Dunham, Saoirse Murphy-Collins and our amazing team who stepped up and continued serving our friends on the streets of Central New York with a wonderful meal and compassionate care.

Every plate served is a reminder that no one is invisible. Every conversation, every smile, and every act of kindness speaks dignity, hope, and love into the lives of those we serve.

We love our team. We love this work. Most importantly, we love our friends on the streets.

Thank you to everyone who continues to carry the mission forward. Together, we are making a difference one relationship, one meal, and one life at a time.

Soles4Souls

For someone living on the streets, proper footwear is more than a comfort it's a necessity. Every day, our friends are walking miles to access food, shelter, medical care, and other essential services. A good pair of shoes can help prevent injuries, infections, and unnecessary suffering.

That's why, in addition to providing fresh socks, we distribute sneakers during the spring and summer months and warm boots throughout the fall and winter. These simple items make a tremendous difference in the lives of those we serve.

Because of your support, Shelly Frank Dunham and the team are able to place proper footwear on the feet of individuals who need it most. Every pair represents dignity, protection, and hope for the journey ahead.

If you'd like to partner with us in this important effort, please click the link to donate today and become part of our Soles4Souls initiative.
Together, we can help ensure that no one has to walk the streets without the footwear they need.

It’s a hot one out in Syracuse today, and today’s outreach lunch is prepared with love and purpose.
We’ll be serving a delicious meatball sandwich with IMFK Taste and See Pasta Sauce, a wonderful sweet treat generously provided by Denise, our amazing cookie lady, along with a nice cold bottle of water, medical touch, and essential supplies to help care for those suffering outdoors on the streets of Syracuse.
Your support makes moments like this possible.
Today’s lunch is more than just a meal it’s an open door to conversation, connection, hope, and transformation. Sometimes something as simple as a sandwich and compassion can become the beginning of someone making the decision to come indoors and take the next step toward stability and healing.
Thank you for standing with us and helping us remind every person we meet that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

What a great day serving alongside some incredible partners and celebrating another life moving forward!

Today, we had the privilege of helping Linda get settled into her new apartment by filling her shelves and refrigerator with nutritious food generously provided through our collaborative partners at Abundant Life Church and the Reach Pantry. We were also able to help fill in the gaps with essential household items and appliances, turning an apartment into a place she can truly call home.

Linda's journey has been one of perseverance and hope. During her time at the Salvation Army Women's Shelter, she participated in our Restore Women's Outreach Program and our Hire Ground Day Labor Program, taking important steps toward stability and independence.

A special thank you to Allison and the entire team at the Salvation Army Women's Shelter for the amazing work they have done walking alongside Linda every step of the way. Their dedication, compassion, and commitment have helped make this success story possible.

This is what collaboration looks like. When organizations come together, barriers are broken, hope is restored, and lives are changed.

Together, we're making a difference. Together, we're building hope. Together, we're changing lives.

Yesterday during street outreach, we experienced one of those moments that reminds us why this work matters so much.

We were able to connect with a friend who was in crisis at just the right moment. By God's grace, our team crossed paths with him exactly when he needed someone to see him, hear him, and care for him. We were able to step in, provide support, and help save his life.

It's humbling to think about what could have happened if we hadn't driven by at that exact time. Moments like these remind us that no one is invisible and that showing up consistently can make all the difference.

A special thank you to our incredible care managers Shelly Frank Dunham, Saoirse Murphy-Collins and to Danielle, our dedicated medical student from the Housecalls for the Homeless - Upstate for their compassion, quick response, and commitment to serving those who are struggling.

Every life has value. Every person matters. And sometimes, simply being present can change the course of someone's story.

Thank You, Lord, for guiding our steps and allowing us to be Your hands and feet in the community.

No one is invisible on the streets.

Every day, there are men, women who feel forgotten, overlooked, and unseen. But at In My Father's Kitchen, we believe every life has value, every person deserves dignity, and every story matters.

Because of your support, we go where the need is greatest bringing food, relief, medical supplies, medical attention, encouragement, and hope. More than meeting physical needs, we bring compassion, care, and a reminder that they are not alone.

A warm meal says, "You matter."
A listening ear says, "You are valued."
A helping hand says, "You are loved."

Together, we are shining light into dark places and helping people rediscover hope. Thank you for helping us make sure that no one remains invisible.

Today was another incredible day as we helped our friend Steve move into a place he can finally call home. Just look at the smile on his face as he puts the key into his own door. His own keys. His own apartment. His own fresh start.

A special thank you to Shelly Frank Dunham and Saoirse Murphy-Collins, our care managers at In My Father's Kitchen, who walked alongside Steve every step of the way helping him navigate appointments, work through the housing process, and stay encouraged on the journey.

Because of your faithful support, we were also able to bless Steve with cleaning supplies, groceries, and many of the essentials that help transform an apartment into a home.

This is what your generosity makes possible. This is what hope looks like. This is what happens when a community comes together to believe in the dignity and worth of every person.

Today, Steve is no longer living on the streets. Today, he has a home.

Thank you for believing in our mission and for helping us bring hope, dignity, and a new beginning to our neighbors in need. May God bless each and every one of you who make stories like Steve’s possible. ❤️🏠🙏
