A shout out to 315 Day in our part of Central New York. We are fortunate to have access to an abundance of natural resources including many lakes, wildlife areas and trails; wildly creative folks and museums, murals, and galleries; diverse ethnic groups who celebrate their heritages (gorgeous day today for 43rd St. Patricks parade); and an interest in our history . Boxcar Press is proud to be here. Letterpress print by Gabby West

The holiday is almost upon us here at Boxcar Press. We are off for a rest until January 2nd. The decorations put us in the spirit. The last printer completes a job. The platemakers are cleaned. Finishing packed their last order. Jess and Sarah gave us the Grinch and Whoville Mayor send-off. Be safe, everyone, and we will see you in 2025.

What a full day 1 at The Hamilton Wood Type wayzgoose 25th Anniversary style. The museum tour included the history and a behind the scenes look at their collections. A little printing at the Tiny Type Cart. Engaging and inspiring featured and keynote speakers Sarah Matthews and Annie Atkins. Said yes to a little print retail therapy at the museum shop (Brad Vetter design rocks). Some instructions in unexpected places. So much outstanding conversation with many folks. Thanks for showing myself and Boxcar some love. See y'all for the Print Swap.

Printers know Boxcar Press for our photopolymer platemaking services. Yeah, we are proud of that, but we certainly enjoy wood type and metal type and linocuts and just about any way you can get a print on paper. We are even fond of a good vegetable print with a potato.

Is this truth for you? Printers (and creators and makers) all seem to have a bazillion projects they want to do. Ideas and work come from all directions. No solution here. Just observation and acceptance. A quote from Jack White.." I have so many projects to work on I'm going to have to live to at least 120 to get some of them done." Let's get to it.
