Amur, Catkin, The Beans and Flooby, Blooby and Friend got out of the studio to be in the world at Upstate Art Weekend for a spell. Made from 3D Printed post-industrial plastic with some hand sculpted post-consumer plastic bits embedded in them to make the little leaves and petals these guys reflect my practice of playing with nature without harming nature. These works like many of mine are available if anyone feels the need for such a thing in their lives! ☺️

The Gypsy Moths appeared again in a tree (they love to hang out in trees) in front of the Cornwall Quaker Meeting House for Upstate Art Weekend. We arranged them like a fire this time for fun.

Part 2 with images of the “In Flux” crew and images of some of their artworks. The red pedestal piece I made couldn’t have been created without a decommissioned plastic comfort pillow contributed by Kazu, shown with tail. So many thanks to the museum staff and supporters who made this residency and exhibition a success. ❤️

Part 2. The longer I am in Japan the more I love the culture and people! The pedestal sculpture is named after the man named Kazu (shown with his tail) who provided the post-consumer plastic that forms the base for the piece.

* In Kyoto now, basking in gratitude and savoring sweet memories from a most incredible experience in Koumi (Nagano Prefecture) at the Koumi-machi Museum, a lovely Tadao Ando building. During my residency, over a two week period I created 5 new sculptures, Gakken, Kura Kura, The Season of the Iris, Midori, and Kazu and had the privilege of working and living with 5 other women artists who collectively soothed and uplifted my soul. Here are some images from this experience and from our resulting exhibition: In Flux. Part 2 coming soon!

Today I woke up in Kyoto. As I explore this incredible place, I am savoring the sweetest memories of my incredible experience with a group of astonishing artists at an exquisite museum in Koumi (Nagano prefecture) where we all lived together and created an exhibition. My 4 new works were created as a marriage of Japanese post-consumer plastic and American post-consumer plastic. I created 4 new sculptures on site. So much gratitude to the museum staff, & support team and the other artists. ❤️
