Restoration Ridge

Three years ago today I sold my first refinished piece under the RR name. Although I have intentionally slowed down enjoying my pregnancy, taking a break from all the things, I will be back with new RR finishes, maybe even get back to videos and tutorials. The proof is in the hoarding of ever growing inventory in the basement and garage just waiting for me!

My brain is wired to see handsome imperfections, texture and earthy abstraction in every object before me. I can not help it. I examine everything in depth, that what should be ugly and chaotic brings an excited vision for what a piece will do for a space as is or restored in my own kind of refinish. But I never have a plan, the pieces do what they want and I just go with the direction it takes me. So here is an old oak dresser, the bottom drawer works but tries to resist, there is crack on the side from slight bowing. I left it. Because it’s perfect as is in it’s old crafting. ✌🏼🫶🏼
