SPC increases severe weather threat levels for Alabama tomorrow. One round of storms will come during the morning hours followed by a second round later in the day, which could bring large hail, damaging winds, and a few tornadoes.
I will have a new discussion and Weather Xtreme video posted later this afternoon.
You know whats priceless?
A Volunteer that will put $4.40/gallon gas in their own vehicle to come to your emergency!!

Please be aware that environmental conditions are NOT favorable for outside burning at this time. We currently have crews assisting Oak Grove VFD with a large brush fire that was wind-swept into a field from what had been a well controlled burn. Numerous other departments in the area have also responded to brush fires throughout the day. The weather is beautiful, the yard work can wait. Enjoy the day with your family and friends, get some hamburgers and ice cream, and please try to refrain from burning leaves, trash, or brush until conditions improve significantly.

Training nights are awesome nights to learn invaluable skills and hone our knowledge. In the ever evolving world of the fire service, we are more often called to aid those with medical related emergencies than fires. Tonight we held a brief refresher on adult CPR and AED usage, along with some hands on time with a new piece of equipment we were fortunate enough to recently purchase..... a Zoll AutoPulse mechanical CPR device! Tonight's training was led by FF2/AEMT Brian Ward, who demonstrated several techniques for moving patients and performing basic assessments. FF/EMT Jennifer Deason, FF/Secretary Heather Ward, FF Kaddy Kemp, FF Kathy Gilliland, and FF Erica Caton took turns with the mannequin..... but it wasn't quite "real" enough. Sooooo..... time for the instructor to become the "patient". Real bodies with real weight provide a "feel" that training aids just can't provide. The AutoPulse will soon be in service on our rescue truck once further in-service training is completed.
Our members go above and beyond to be ready to serve YOU. Chief Harrison works diligently to ensure we have the latest information and resources to provide the highest quality service. We are committed to continuing to provide the utmost in professional service to our communities and our neighbors.

Over the last several days, County Line VFD and most other Talladega County volunteer fire departments have responded to numerous brush and woods fires. Extremely dry conditions along with a steady breeze has made for hazardous burning conditions across the state. While CLVFD does not have the authority to impose a burn ban or anything like that, we do ask that you seriously consider limiting outside burning until conditions improve. If you do decide to try burning, please keep a source of water nearby and limit your burns to several small piles done individually. As soon as you see that you can no longer control your fire, dial 911 immediately so that help can be dispatched to you.
