I just wanted to give everyone a quick update. Due to personal security concerns involving my family and myself, I have been removing a large number of people from my personal social media accounts.

I will absolutely continue to have this business page, and I ask that you please contact me here for any business-related needs rather than through my personal pages.

If you've been removed, please don't take offense. I've gone from over 4,000 friends to around 200 so far, and this decision is not personal in any way.

Unfortunately, social media privacy isn't always as private as it seems. With mutual friends and Facebook's sharing features, personal information can sometimes be more visible than intended.

This change is simply for the safety and security of my family and myself due to some personal matters currently happening. It is not because of any of you, and I truly appreciate your understanding and support.

Color can actually help the hair feel better when done correctly. During the coloring process, the cuticle is refined and smoothed back down, which helps reflect light for that shiny, glossy finish. Some color lines also contain conditioning ingredients and bonding technology that help support the hair while processing.

Fresh color can also fill in rough or faded areas of the hair, making it feel silkier and look healthier overall. Healthy-looking hair isn’t always about going darker or lighter, sometimes it’s simply about adding the right tone, shine, and moisture balance back into the hair ✨

Highlights are one of those services that look “simple” until you actually learn the science behind them 👏✨

A good highlight appointment is all about balance — brightness, dimension, placement, and keeping the integrity of the hair healthy.

Not every client needs to be platinum blonde to feel brighter. Sometimes just a few well placed highlights around the face and crown can completely transform the hair and make everything look shiny and refreshed again ☀️

Highlight education matters because:
• Different sections lift differently
• Previously colored hair reacts differently than virgin hair
• Foil placement changes the entire end result
• Toners fade differently depending on the level lifted
• And over-highlighting can eventually lead to breakage and loss of dimension

Having a stylist with experience in vivid color brands truly makes a difference! 🎨

Not all vivid brands are created equal. Some stain and bleed excessively, turning everything they touch into that color… while others rinse clear but may fade faster. Some brands don’t even work well together at all. Every line behaves differently, and learning that takes real hands-on experience.

That’s why finding a stylist educated in vivids matters. We’ve already gone through the “bleeders,” the trial and error, the brand mixing mistakes, and the redo moments early in our careers so you don’t have to.

Early on, another stylist once told me:
“To be good at vivid colors, you must first be good at blonding.”

And honestly… that’s so true. Understanding underlying pigments, lift levels, and how certain colors will react on different canvases is the foundation of vivid work. Then adding different color brands on top? That’s a whole different ball game.

I fell in love with vivid colors early in my career while working in a bigger city. As my kids got older, I chose to move my career closer to home and their school, and somehow my clientele naturally shifted into blondes.

But my love for vivids will always be there… because blondes are just the base to any vivid color anyway 😉

Let’s talk BLACK! 🖤

Black color is definitely not easy! Sometimes it can take a couple color removing appointments, and we slowly have to lift over time.

Trust me… your hair has to lift through phases:
Black → red/orange → brownish → finally blonde ✨

When doing sessions like this, you have to be prepared to put in the work at home too!

Expect some dryness from lightener, so deep conditioning at home is super important, along with your salon treatments.

Protein treatments are also a MUST both at home and in salon to help keep your hair strong through the process! 🤍

Expect an ombré look through the process! 🖤

You’ll usually have less color compacted closer to the scalp, which makes it easier to lift through. Soon enough, you’ll also have virgin hair growing in, which is MUCH easier to get blonde. ✨

The ends typically have more color buildup compacted into them, making them the hardest part to lift. Plus, your ends are the most fragile part of the hair!
