Some recent train shots!
Fellow photographers, the tracks are a dangerous prop! I see this all the time on an active mainline. People have, and will continue to get killed doing this! Don’t let a happy moment turn tragic!
Starting a little photo blog. First, I shoot mostly trains, hence the joke, I have a one track mind. Started in film with Mirandas many years back. Mine were from the 60’s, and in quality, they rivaled the Nikon and Canons of the era. Transitioned to Nikon by pure chance, a guy gave me a camera body. It ended up being an F2 photomic. I shot FM’s, FA’s, and one of my favorites, a Nikon FG. From 2000- 2002 I worked for Wolfe Camera, and it was such a fun job. In 2006 I jumped into digital with a D70. Man, being able to work with files in a computer, and edit any one shot numerous ways, just opened the world up for me creatively. In 2010, I got a D90, and shot that till 2017. At that point I went mirrorless with a Sony a6000 and an 18-105 lens. The Nikon has sat ever since. So, what is everyone shooting, and how did we get there. Starting with the D90, my cameras have had video capabilities, so video talk is legit too!

So what cameras are everyone using? Tell me what your Camera is, what you use it for, and why you can’t leave home without it! My newest is the Panasonic LUMIX LX 100. It helps me capture trains by shooting 4K video, and then pulling stills from that! Being a good combination of small size, but with a micro 4/3 sensor make this a great travel camera, and a 24-75 35mm zoom equivalent make this great for interiors, architecture, and portraits. I would shoot action in 4K, and then pull stills
