Did you know Georgia’s new kindergarten law now gives parents the right to choose whether their 6-year-old begins in Kindergarten or 1st Grade? Families now have greater flexibility to make the best developmental decision for their child — especially for children with summer birthdays, emotional readiness concerns, or those who may benefit from an extra year to grow and thrive before first grade.

Here at Shadowbrook Weekday School, our Half-Day Private Kindergarten program provides a nurturing, encouraging environment where children can build confidence, maturity, friendships, and a strong academic foundation. ❤️

Following their year in Kindergarten at Shadowbrook, families can then choose whether their child is ready to move on to 1st grade or enroll in a full-day Kindergarten program for an additional year of growth and readiness before “big school.”

Ms. Rosie’s class took learning outside for a muddy, colorful adventure! 🚗🎨💦

The kiddos drove toy cars through dirt and paint to create track art on paper, then headed over to their very own car wash to clean them up. It was the perfect mix of messy play, movement, and creativity—watching the cars go from dirty to sparkling clean made for so much joy and laughter!

W is for Worm! 🪱🤎

Ms. Diana’s class celebrated by making their very own dirt cups—layering, mixing, and of course enjoying a sweet treat while learning about worms and their important role in nature. A fun (and delicious!) way to bring learning to life.

Summer break is finally here ☀️ …and if there’s one thing we know, it’s that summer has a way of flying by faster than we expect! Before long, backpacks will be packed and a new school year will be here. Do you have a spot secured for your child this fall?

Our little learners had a buggy good time exploring the world of insects! 🐛🪲

They painted using fly swatters, dug through sensory bins filled with creepy-crawly surprises, played with plastic insects, and got creative by making their own bug eyes and caterpillar headbands. So much learning through play and imagination!
