This movie did a fantastic job of keeping us engaged. Let's learn from it and apply its lessons to our writing.

What are your passion projects? Those are the kinds of projects that aren't profit building but you still love. These are the ones that remind you that Mondays exist to provide for those passions.

One of mine is entomology. I thought for a while in college that I might study butterflies. I found their behavior fascinating. Not just their amazing life cycle, but their migration. The detail on their wings is exquisite.

Then came the spider. Specifically the Joro spider. It is much maligned, unfairly prejudiced, and often misidentified. I took it upon myself to elevate their appreciation.

If you click through these photos, you'll see that same exquisite level of detail you'll find on a butterfly. Their webs are strong, colorful, and sophisticated. To accommodate this passion, I created a website and separate social media. A number of my photos were picked up by Reuters and the Associated Press, and through Tree Fort Books, I even published a photo journal.

I was able to mix my passions of nature, art, education and writing into one project.
