🌡 HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FOR BROWARD COUNTY
A Heat Advisory is in effect from 12 PM to 6 PM today, with heat index values expected to reach up to 107°F. High temperatures combined with humidity can quickly lead to heat-related illnesses if proper precautions are not taken.
☀️ Protect yourself and your loved ones by:
💧 Drinking plenty of water throughout the day
🏠 Staying indoors or in air-conditioned spaces during peak heat hours
🚶 Avoiding strenuous outdoor activities when possible
❤️ Checking on elderly family members, neighbors, and anyone without access to air conditioning
Heat exhaustion and heat stroke are serious medical emergencies. If you notice symptoms such as confusion, dizziness, fainting, nausea, or a rapid pulse, move to a cool location and seek medical attention immediately.

Sunrise Fire Rescue Special Operations recently participated in a regional confined space rescue drill alongside our partners from , @fort_lauderdale_fire_rescue , and .
Confined space incidents present unique challenges that require specialized equipment, technical expertise, and seamless coordination between agencies. Exercises like these allow our teams to sharpen critical rescue skills, strengthen inter-agency partnerships, and ensure we are prepared to respond when every second counts.
We are grateful for the opportunity to train alongside our neighboring departments and remain committed to providing the highest level of service and safety to the communities we serve.

Today, Sunrise Fire Rescue joined Pompano Beach, Davie, BSO, Hollywood, and Fort Lauderdale agencies for a large-scale Mass Casualty Incident (MCI) and HazMat training exercise.
These realistic drills strengthen coordination, communication, and response capabilities between neighboring departments when every second counts. From hazardous materials mitigation to patient triage and rescue operations, this hands-on training helps ensure our crews are prepared for complex emergency situations.
Thank you to all participating agencies and personnel who helped make this exercise a success through teamwork, professionalism, and dedication to public safety.

After 23 years of dedicated service, Driver Operator Jaime Schupka is beginning a well-earned retirement from Sunrise Fire Rescue.
