✨Another enlightening day in South Florida as we continue our ‘Design Impacts Lives - Summer Tours’! ✨☀️ We had the privilege to hear from the incredible curator, Susan Gillis, on the architectural and interior design marvel that was Addison Mizner. With his unique Spanish-influenced aesthetic, Mizner truly sculpted the design language of Palm Beach County, including Boca Raton and Palm Beach. From furniture and lighting to tiles and textiles, Mizner’s local factories turned out magnificent pieces for all his clients - pieces that are on proud display at the museum. It’s like walking through a time capsule of design excellence! A huge shoutout to Benjamin Moore paints and our Palm Beach County A&D representative Adam Nagle who generously sponsored our lovely brunch and swag bags bursting with Color Catalogs! But that’s only scratching the surface! The museum houses countless other artifacts that have contributed to shaping Boca Raton as we know it. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with the finest display of imported custom-crafted cabinetry and stone that left us absolutely amazed. Having the opportunity to host our July - Chapter Board Meeting in this spectacular setting was an honor. Exploring the showroom felt like a journey into the heart of artisanship and design. Every corner we turned, every piece we saw was a testament to the impeccable craftsmanship that goes into each creation. But it didn’t stop there! The delicious lunch spread was the icing on the cake, making the whole experience all the more delightful. Florida Building Code 2Hr. Mandatory CE – The Good, The Bad, The Ugly – Or Why Did I Do That???

This Advanced Building Code course addresses the specific requirements of the Florida Accessibility Code for Building Construction and the ADA. The course will instruct attendants in the common errors that have and are occurring in construction relating to accessibility issues. There will be an update as to what the Federal Access Board and the Department of Justice is looking at as it relates to requirements for accessibility. When the course has been completed attendant will have a better understanding of the applicable accessibility requirements and the areas to be watchful of.
