NOVAworks is proud to partner with Fremont Union High School District and the City of Sunnyvale, California (Government) for the Sunnyvale Teen Wellness Fair this Saturday. Schools throughout the district will share resources to promote teens’ positive mental health and wellbeing.

Employers like Urban Plates, Golf Land, and CSA of Mountain View will be there to share summer job opportunities for teens, while volunteer organizations such as the Sunnyvale Heritage Museum and Sunnyvale Explorers Program will highlight ways for teens to give back to the community.

Stop by the NOVAworks table to get information about our young adult program and paid internship opportunities! We’ll also offer a 15-minute free workshop at the event: First Impressions Count: How to Nail Your Intro, teaching teens how to stand out and make meaningful connections.

Where: Sunnyvale City Hall, 456 W. Olive Ave
Workshop Times: 1:00 p.m. and 2:15 p.m.

This event is a wonderful example of community collaboration, bringing together schools, employers, and organizations to help teens thrive. We hope to see you there!

Even in Silicon Valley, career paths go far beyond tech, and everyone’s journey is unique. For Audrey it took a leap of faith to leave a computer science program at UC Riverside to pursue her true passion: the culinary arts. Through the Sprouts Chef Training Internship Program, she discovered opportunities that aligned with her dreams.

With NOVAworks’ support, her unpaid internship was transformed into a paid experience, making it possible for her to fully embrace this opportunity. Working with one of our young adult career advisors, she gained career counseling and networking skills, which led to a mentorship with Chef Timothy Humphrey at Ofena restaurant in San Francisco.

Today, we’re thrilled to celebrate Audrey’s success. After completing her internship at Ofena, her hard work and dedication earned her a full-time position at the restaurant. Audrey’s journey reminds us that there are many paths to success in Silicon Valley, and each is as unique as the individual who walks it.

Congratulations, Audrey! Your courage to follow your passion is an inspiration to us all.
