Infinity Cube made from Cherry, designed in OnShape. Fun multi-stage glue-up to get everything square. I used the Boolean subtract feature in OnShape to generate a simple 3D printed stand into which the cube snaps securely."

"Mahogany blanket chest. I fitted the lock this morning and that was the last of it.

This chest incorporates a few themes you'll see in many Greene and Greene pieces.

Very few elements are coplanar. On the front plane, for example, this piece has 4 different planes: outer stiles, inner stiles, upper and lower rails, and the plinth.
Ebony plugs. The black squares are ebony plugs. Like the original G&G furniture, most of them are decorative, although a few cover screw heads.
Proud joinery. The chunky finger joints on the plinth are seen in quite a few G&G pieces.
Cloud lift lines. There's a design element on the bottom rail called a cloud lift. You see that all the time in G&G furniture and it gives the piece a certain lightness. The inside stiles echo that shape, although in a vertical aspect.
Use of mahogany. The Greene brothers didn't exclusively use mahogany, but they did use it extensively.

Finished with Osmo PolyX on the base and General Finishes Arm-R-Seal on the lid, where I expect more abuse.

Design based on plans in the April 2024 issue of Popular Woodworking."

“Land of Enchantment” quilted wall hanging is complete! No pattern. Motivation was something loud, whimsical, with some clean lines. Used the decorative stitches on my computerized Brother sewing machine to showcase and not hide the quilting. For the first time, attempted a mitered corner binding.”

“So I went to a class this morning with Scott Hampton, who led a woodturning demonstration yesterday for the Silicon Valley Woodturners club, and we made the 3-corner boxes he demonstrated for us. Here’s mine. I had lots of help (thanks Jerry)!”

“— A large (13.5 inch diam.) Lazy Susan Serving Tray. Inside tray 12.75"Ø height 1.5 inches, total hight 2". Multiple woods: Walnut, Maple, Purple-Heart.
Cut the pieces and glued up at Maker Nexus. Then cut the rounds on the bandsaw using my bandsaw circle jig. Glued the top circle to the base circle. Since the Lathes at MN do not allow such a large radius, I finished it by turning and sanding at home on my ShopSmith using a faceplate. Cut the baseplate for the Lazy Susan mechanism from 7/16" Baltic Birch PWD on the Boss Laser. Finish is 3 coats Polyurethane Diamond Finish.”

DIY 3D Print info stand!
“Finally managed a working hinge and completed print. Hinge pin to outer spacing 0.4mm and using a long skirt (aka “Draft Shield”->Enabled in the slicer skirt and brim pane) helped immensely. Now I need to think about what to print next since I have a viable sign to use when I print things.”

FIX IT YOURSELF!!!

“Not a pretty one but a good one,
The drain stub out under my sink was a cast iron pipe too corroded to tread a new connection to, so when the old trap failed i tig brazed a new brass fitting in with silicone bronze.”
