Due to the train derailment in Lancing, if you are being evacuated and need temporary assistance with your dog, MoCo Mutts Rescue Center may be able to help.

We have limited space available for friendly dogs and can provide temporary overnight boarding during this emergency.

Please understand that space is very limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

🐾 Meet Maverick – Looking for His Forever Home! 🐾
Maverick is a handsome, middle-aged Belgian Malinois mix who is ready to find the loving, permanent home he deserves.
Sadly, Maverick has been passed around and left behind far too many times in his life. What he needs now is someone who will make a lifelong commitment and show him what "forever" truly means.
This sweet boy loves: 🎾 Toys and playtime
🌳 Spending time outdoors
🚶 Leash walks and adventures
❤️ Meeting new people
Maverick is a strong boy and will benefit from continued leash training, as he can get excited and pull during walks. He's friendly, affectionate, and loves everyone he meets.
Because of his size and enthusiasm, we recommend a home with older children or an adult-only household.
Maverick appears to do well with other dogs, but a meet-and-greet is required to ensure a good match. To be safe, he is looking for a home without small dogs or cats.
If you're looking for a loyal companion and are ready to give a deserving dog the stability and love he's been missing, Maverick may be the perfect fit for your family.

A Huge Surprise and an Even Bigger Blessing!

As many of you know, our little van—our daily driver for the rescue—recently needed a new transmission. After getting our big van repaired, we were finally able to arrange for our Dodge van to go to the mechanic.

Today, we received a call that our van was ready for pickup. Lisa and I rearranged our schedules and headed to J&W Tire and Service Center in Scott County, expecting to pay the repair bill.

To our complete surprise, we were told the bill had already been paid in full by an anonymous donor.

We were speechless.

To the generous person who made this possible, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Your kindness is a tremendous blessing and allows us to continue focusing our resources on the animals who depend on us every day.

Your generosity will directly benefit the homeless, neglected, abandoned, and forgotten animals we serve throughout Morgan and Scott Counties.

Sometimes, when the challenges seem overwhelming, someone steps forward and reminds us that there is still so much good in this world.
