Summer registration is now open for our preschool + youth sports! These Soccer and Baseball programs are a great opportunity to introduce kids to sports. These programs will teach the basics of their sport while encouraging teamwork, positive attitudes, and a good time! Participants can expect to participate in a fun drills and activities, work on skill basics, and join small "scrimmage" style games each practice. Each enrollment will include a T-Shirt.

Due to staff trainings the Sun Prairie Parks, Recreation, and Forestry office will be closed on Monday June 8th at 2:00 PM and on Tuesday June 9th from 12:00 - 2:00 PM. Normal hours will continue on Wednesday June 10th, Thank you.

Small Business Spotlight: Butterfly Creations LLC

For Poonam Verma, owner of Butterfly Creations LLC in Sun Prairie, fashion has always been about much more than clothing. It's about confidence, self-expression, empowerment, and helping people discover what makes them uniquely beautiful.

Inspired by a strong mother who challenged traditional expectations and encouraged her to dream bigger, Poonam learned early on that women are capable of accomplishing anything they set their minds to. While many girls played with dolls, she was designing custom outfits for them. As she grew older, friends regularly turned to her for fashion advice, styling help, and clothing transformations. What began as a childhood passion eventually blossomed into Butterfly Creations.

The name "Butterfly Creations" represents transformation. Just as a butterfly emerges into something beautiful, Poonam helps her clients discover confidence, personal style, and their own unique "X-factor" through thoughtfully designed clothing and expert craftsmanship.

Known locally as the "Cloth Doctor," Poonam specializes in custom dressmaking, alterations, garment redesign, sustainable fashion solutions, and textile upcycling. She creates one-of-a-kind pieces for women, men, and children while helping breathe new life into cherished garments that might otherwise be discarded. Her work beautifully blends fashion, creativity, sustainability, and culture.

One of the things that makes Butterfly Creations truly special is Poonam's commitment to preserving and celebrating cultural fashion. Drawing inspiration from Indian, Asian, and African traditions, she creates authentic garments that honor heritage while embracing modern style. She also shares her culture through the art of mehndi (henna), hospitality, and community engagement.

But her mission extends beyond fashion. Poonam is passionate about mentoring women and young girls, encouraging them to invest in themselves, build confidence, learn valuable skills, and pursue their dreams. Through sewing education and creative learning opportunities, she hopes to inspire the next generation to believe in themselves and create lives filled with purpose and possibility.

You'll often find Poonam participating in local community events, including the Sun Prairie Multicultural Fair, where she proudly celebrates diversity, creativity, and cultural connection.
