Ulysses my very first and very long sought after grey Percheron from Canadian lines. A Pleasant View King Grandson out of Lone Oak Phoenix x Lone Oak Patricia. I can thank my auction pal Homer Evenstad for goading me into this buy. Yesterday we traversed the DeForest roundabout trifecta to the Kwik trip. Fitting in well with the mares and not surprisingly, not so much with the geldings.

Sunday we welcomed Fischer Farms Jane into our herd. This seasoned lady is Isabella's first draft. She and Captain Ahab have been inseparable, save for a hot fence, since her arrival. I can't think of a better mare to fill the literal and figurative role of "first draft" for Izzy. Thanks to Kyle Dudek and family for all you have done.

BIG meets little....

Cooper meets Cookie from Heartland Farm Sanctuary today at UW Veterinary Hospital 💕

08/04/2021

Our poor big fella has lost quite a bit of weight but the light is still in his eyes. He needs our prayers and shares more than ever.

Cooper Update!

Cooper continues to show progress. He is eating well and enjoying much larger quantities of food throughout the day. Cooper has lost some weight, but given how sick he was, that is to be expected. He will have a long road to recovery and will not work for the remainder of the riding season so that he can work to regain his physical strength.

Cooper has begun to show progress digestively speaking and making tons of new friends at UW Vet Hospital with Veterinarians and students alike. We are hopeful his good appetite and proper elimination will allow him to come home very soon! Thank you ALL for your continued support of Cooper as he works toward a full recovery.

Help Madison Police Horse "Cooper", organized by Friends of Madison Mounted Horse Patrol 07/29/2021

Dear friends, family and colleagues. One of my hard working "children" needs our help. The foal pictured with my son is Capt. Jack a/k/a Cooper, a proud member of the Madison Mounted Horse Patrol unit. He had to have surgery for colon displacement on Monday. He remains in critical condition with a guarded prognosis. The Friends of Madison Mounted Horse Patrol have established the Go Fund Me Page below. Please support the Good Captain by sharing. He is a beloved member of his law enforcement family. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his law enforcement family. Let's bail this big fella out of his "cell" and bring him back to the farm in one piece.

Can you help? MPD horse Cooper needs new sponsor 11/29/2018

Our darling boy, Captain Jack (f/k/a Cooper by the sponsor who bailed) is in need of a new sponsor, right after this brilliant 6 year old lad received his officer's badge. For the small price of $5k/year, you get naming rights and a tax write off. I would consider it a personal favor if any potential sponsor who receives this story, seriously changing his name from Cooper to anything but. He weighs nearly 2000 # and stands at an honest 18hh. Sponsors also receive more publicity for this humanitarian gesture. Capt. Jack loves water, swimming and gets along great with kids so it's pretty rewarding to see this big fella periodically in the news, even if it is for getting ditched.
