We’re thrilled to introduce Brad Peters as our Employee Spotlight for the month! Brad has been with the Universal Blastco team since 2010 and is proudly marking 25 years as a member of the Bricklayers Union. As a Superintendent for the Brick Block & Tile Group, Brad loves what he does and takes great pride in the effort involved in bringing projects to life from start to finish. He appreciates the supportive team around him, whose guidance has been instrumental in his growth and success in this role. Brad believes in leading by example and enjoys being hands on in the field with the guys helping get the work complete.

Outside of work, Brad enjoys staying fit by going to the gym and focusing on nutrition. He's a daily Chipotle enthusiast, whether at home or on the road. He also enjoys tackling upgrades around his house and cherishes time with his beautiful girlfriend, her son, and their two cats.

We'd like to congratulate Susan Stewart on her promotion to Assistant Director of the Commercial Flooring Division! Susan was hired as a Flooring Administrator and quickly established herself as a committed leader to the team. Susan has been instrumental in working with leadership furthering the growth and development of the flooring division. This year, Susan was promoted to Assistant Director and has taken on a bigger role in the day to day operations of the team. Susan is a rockstar! We are thrilled to announce the promotion of Denise England to the role of Operations Manager for our Commercial Flooring Division! Denise joined us as a Project Coordinator and quickly demonstrated an incredible “go get it done” mentality. Her ability to tackle challenges head-on and not let the job overwhelm her was essential. Since stepping into her new role, Denise has not only excelled beyond expectations but is building up her team to keep up with our growth. Join us in congratulating Denise on this well-deserved promotion! We can’t wait to see all the amazing things she will accomplish in her new position.

We're excited to announce Luis Rios as the Employee Spotlight of the month. His journey with us started back in 2017. Luis exemplifies the spirit of teamwork at Universal Blastco. He's loved being a part of the team and growing into the Supervisor role in the FRP division.

When asked why he loves his job: He said, "I love this type of work because it keeps things interesting. Every job is a little different, and I enjoy being hands on and working with a good crew to get the job done right."

Luis’s communication with the customers and Blastco management makes a significant impact on the flow and efficiency of projects. He keeps his composure and fully accommodates the customers needs. Stress doesn't seem to damper his positive attitude and leadership to keep everyone informed of progress, delays and his crews performance. Luis has won the respect of many management teams and trust from his quality of work.

Outside of work, he enjoys collecting sports cards and staying involved in the hobby from adding to his collection, trading with others, or staying updated on the latest in the sports world.

🎉We’re thrilled to share that Jasmin Wittenbach from our Lowell, MI office was promoted earlier this year! Jasmin began her journey with us as an administrative assistant for our industrial masonry division (brick, block, and tile) last August. In February, she transitioned into the role of Project Coordinator for our industrial masonry division. Throughout her time with us, Jasmin has displayed incredible enthusiasm and curiosity. She consistently asks insightful questions not only about her duties but also about the processes behind them. Her calm and steady presence has positively impacted our team, earning her great feedback and strong rapport with the crews in the field.
