Founded in 1918, the SPH is one of the oldest continuously operating community theatres in the US.
The Summit Playhouse began performances in 1918 making it the oldest, continuous community theater in New Jersey and one of the oldest in the United States. Originally created as a World War I relief organization we have since mounted more than 350 productions of comedies, dramas, and musicals along with a youth theater program.
