Happy Father’s Day to all of our Kent Place Dads! 💚💛

Juneteenth commemorates the emancipation of enslaved African Americans and is the anniversary of the announcement of General Order No. 3 on June 19, 1865, proclaiming freedom for enslaved people in Texas. To mark Juneteenth, Kent Place is closed today, June 19.

Commencement 2026! We are beyond proud of the Class of 2026 and can’t wait to see all the incredible things they accomplish. No matter where life takes you, Kent Place will always be home. 💚💛

Our Bioethics students have wrapped up their first week exploring complex ethical questions and real-world dilemmas. Through engaging class discussions and upcoming field trips, they have and continue to gain valuable insight into how different religions, cultures, and communities shape bioethical thinking.

As they conclude their experience this week, they are continuing to deepen their understanding of the ethical challenges facing our world today.

From braiding challah dough to enjoying a delicious cultural food tasting, guests immersed themselves in the rich traditions of Jewish cuisine and community. 💙
The evening also included a meaningful service project, as attendees created and packed wellness bags for those in need.

The Class of 2027 Has Revealed Their Senior Class Mascot: Odysseus the Otter! 🦦

Odysseus isn’t just any otter, he is inspired by The Odyssey, the classic epic that members of the Class of 2027 read during their freshman year. With so many students enjoying the story, the choice felt like the perfect fit.

Senior class mascots have been a cherished Kent Place tradition since the early 1900's, and the reveal remains one of the most anticipated moments of Step Sing, our spring sendoff to the graduating class. As the Class of 2026 took their final steps as students, the rising seniors stepped into the Great Room and into their new role, with Odysseus leading the way.

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT:
Congratulations to sixth graders Alice M., Anjali G., Ellie Y., Gracelyn B., Lily H., and Sophia L. on an outstanding first year competing in the American Computer Science League (ACSL)! 💻

After training and competing throughout the school year, the team placed 2nd overall in the world in their division, earning 71 out of 72 possible points and qualifying for the ACSL Finals.
At the global finals, all six students scored 16 or higher out of 20, with special recognition going to:
🥇 Anjali G. — Gold Medal
🥈 Alice M. — Silver Medal

STUDENT SPOTLIGHT:
Congratulations to Clara W. ’30, who represented Team USA at the 2026 IODA North American Championship for Sailing hosted by the Royal Nova Scotia Yacht Squadron in Halifax, Canada! 🇺🇸 ⛵️

More than 170 sailors from 15 countries competed in the five-day regatta, and Clara earned her spot by finishing as one of the top seven girls in the nation at the STQ Regatta in Wisconsin last fall.

Congratulations, Clara! 👏
