Overlook Auxiliary
The Overlook Auxiliary is 501(c)(3) volunteer organization that supports Overlook Medical Center with volunteering and fundraising efforts.
The Overlook Auxiliary, an independent organization made up of men and women of all ages, supports the medical center by providing much needed hands-on and creative fundraising. Our efforts provide many of the extras that make Overlook Medical Center unique in our area. The volunteer commitment of each Auxiliary volunteer may be achieved either by working as an individual or as a member of a Twig.

This past Mother's Day, the Chatham Jr. Twig hosted a Burn and Bond mother-daughter exercise class — and raised an incredible $690 in the process!
Thanks to these funds, the Overlook Auxiliary was able to purchase 63 pairs of sweatpants and 48 t-shirts for patients who don't have clothes to wear when leaving the hospital.
You might wonder — how does that happen? There are more reasons than you'd think:
• Clothing is sometimes cut off or damaged during emergency treatment or trauma care
• Patients may arrive by ambulance without time to grab belongings
• Some patients, especially older adults, may not have family or friends nearby to bring them a change of clothes
• Patients coming from nursing homes or living alone may not have access to extra clothing
• Some patients lack stable housing or financial resources for basic necessities
Thanks to the generosity of the Chatham Jr. Twig and everyone who joined the class, these patients will be able to leave the hospital with dignity and comfort. 💛
Thank you to all who participated and supported this wonderful event!

Each year, Hospital Week is a national celebration dedicated to honoring the hardworking, compassionate individuals who keep our hospitals running every day. It's a time to recognize and express gratitude to ALL hospital team members — from nurses and doctors to support staff and everyone in between.
This year, during the week of May 10th, the Overlook Auxiliary and our Junior Twigs were proud to show our appreciation in a big way! 💛
Our Junior Twigs crafted 3 beautiful, festive banners filled with heartfelt messages of gratitude for all hospital workers.
They also handwrote personal 500 thank-you notes and tucked them into goody bags filled with fun treats — popcorn, Oreos, M&Ms, Swedish Fish, and granola bars — which were handed out to team members at the Gift Shop & Bloom.
On Friday, Overlook Auxiliary Board Members surprised team members with popsicles! While they waited for their popsicles, they had the chance to enjoy a display of beautifully decorated kindness rocks, made by the Gill St. Bernard Jr. Twig — each one a little token of thanks to take home.
To every Overlook hospital team member: thank you for everything you do, each and every day. You are seen, appreciated, and celebrated! 🌟

We were honored to help bring a special touch to the newly renovated Mother-Baby Unit at Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center by funding a beautiful new “selfie” mural created by Margaret Grzymkowski, Marggrz
It was wonderful to join members of the department team and executive leadership to celebrate the unveiling—and, of course, capture the moment with a photo in front of this joyful new space.
We hope this mural brings smiles to the many families who will pass through the unit and serves as a lasting reminder of the special memories made here. 💕

Kindness is more than a value at Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center — it’s a daily practice.
This year, team members nominated peers who truly live our 10 Tenets of Kindness, from taking patients outside for fresh air to helping families during snowstorms to giving “spa day” moments that lift spirits.
A huge thank‑you to Summit Jr. Twig for assembling personalized goody baskets and notes for each nominee. Your thoughtfulness helps our team feel appreciated for the compassion they show every day.
Here’s to kindness in action — and to the people who make Overlook shine. ✨

🌸 Brightening Days Safely! 🌸
We have had the absolute busiest spring, and we can’t wait to spend the summer sharing photos of all our incredible member activities! To kick things off, we want to spotlight our amazing Columbia H.S. Jr. Twig!
The students recently handcrafted beautiful paper flowers for overnight cancer patients at Overlook Medical Center.
Did you know that fresh flowers are restricted in certain hospital departments like oncology? While we love real blooms, they can pose hidden risks for vulnerable patients:
Infection Control: Real flowers, soil, and vase water can harbor bacteria, mold, and fungi, which pose a risk to immunocompromised patients.
Allergies & Breathing: Strong scents and pollen can trigger respiratory issues or nausea.
Safety & Focus: Spilled water creates slip hazards, and maintaining real plants takes valuable time away from hands-on nursing care.
Thanks to the creativity of the Columbia H.S. Jr. Twig, these patients get all the emotional joy of a bright bouquet, with 100% of the safety! 💕
Stay tuned all summer long to see how our members are making a difference!
