At Black Diamond / Paragon, we understand that time matters—especially when critical infrastructure impacts the daily lives of families, businesses, and the entire community. That’s why we take every emergency call seriously and respond with urgency, efficiency, and a strong commitment to safety.
We are currently working with Dorchester County Water and Sewer on an emergency repair to a 30” force main on Dorchester Road. This is a complex project that will likely take about a week to complete, as it involves several detailed steps to ensure the system is repaired the right way and built to last.
Our crews are setting up line stops and preparing a bypass so service can continue while repairs are made. We know the impact situations like this can have on the community, and our team is focused on working as efficiently as possible while never compromising safety—for our workers or the public.
We appreciate the patience and support of the community as we work to restore this critical infrastructure. Thank you to our dedicated team members who show up ready to serve when it matters most.
We want to take a moment to highlight one of our awesome equipment operators, Nick Hart. When Nick first joined Paragon, he came in brand new to the industry with very little experience. From day one, he showed a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a determination to grow.
Since then, Nick has taken the time to learn multiple roles, ask questions, and sharpen his skills. Today, he has become an absolute beast in the field and a dependable part of our team. He’s established himself as a great employee and someone we can always count on to get the job done right.
Fun fact — while moving dirt on our job sites, Nick has been on a serious streak of luck finding shark teeth! Not a bad perk of the job.

We are incredibly proud at Black Diamond Industries (Paragon Siteworks – Ertel Construction) to be involved in the beautification process on Short Central in Summerville.
We are truly grateful to Summerville Dream and for their relentless pursuit of quality spaces in our town. We are also thankful to Gilbert + Lee Construction for taking the lead and including us in this meaningful project.
There are times when projects are about protecting the value and integrity of our community. This was not a business decision. This was a choice to be involved because we believe the end result will enhance our community, create opportunity, and improve our residents’ experience in town.
We are looking forward to seeing this come to life and feel blessed to work alongside some incredible companies and people who care deeply about the future of our community.

Don’t know how you capture these personalities and hobbies, but I believe this did it. Celebrating the men that keep the “engines running” (no pun intended) with a lil ChatGPT.
