I refer to ChatGPT as “my assistant” as it has helped my business grow soooo much this year with helpful advice and laughs. A friend posted this so I thought it would be fun to see what it could for mine. I’ve pasted the prompt in the comments and would love to see what yours is! Post in comments once you’ve done it❤️❤️🙌 Pretty spot on I’d say🙌😂

Update: After several messages, I have just added this bag to the website (with custom monogram options) 🙌❤️

There’s just something really special about creating a piece completely from start to finish with machines that each tell part of my story. 🤍

I stitched this knot tote together a couple of days ago on my grandmother’s vintage sewing machine — the same machine that still runs like a dream decades later — and then finished the embroidery on it this morning using my embroidery machine with a custom design digitized entirely by me! 🙌✨

And honestly? That embroidery machine and I have BEEN THROUGH IT together. 😂 The one that tried to take my finger off, stitched me to the machine, and was there during one of the scariest moments of my life when I experienced my first seizure. Yet here we are… still creating. Still learning. Still making beautiful things.

This bag feels extra meaningful today.

Happy birthday to me. 🥹🌻

This week reminded me why handmade work — and the tools behind it — mean so much more than just “making things.” ❤️

A client reached out needing help with 27 hats after the leather patches had started peeling away from hats originally done elsewhere. He asked if I could sew the patches directly onto the hats to create a more permanent bond.

Well… my modern machine quickly let me know she was NOT interested in that job. 😂 Between the thick leather patches and hard structured hats, I was having to manually turn the hand wheel almost every stitch. At 30 minutes per hat, I knew something had to change.

Then I remembered… my grandmother’s 75-year-old Singer sewing machine sitting tucked away.

The last time I used this machine was probably 20 years ago, and honestly, back then I didn’t fully appreciate what I had. After cleaning her up and switching to an electronic foot pedal, this old girl absolutely came back to life — and WOW. The power, speed, and quality are unbelievable. These vintage machines were truly built differently.

Once I got Grandma’s Singer up and running, each hat only took me FOUR minutes instead of thirty… and the stitches were far more uniform and professional looking. I was honestly blown away.

But what makes this machine priceless to me isn’t just what it can do. It’s whose it was.

My grandmother passed away when I was a pr***en, and some of my favorite childhood memories were the summers my sister and I spent with her and Papa, along with our big family Thanksgivings and reunions together. She loved quilting and taught myself, my sister, and my cousins how to sew using this very machine. Sitting at it again this week honestly felt a little emotional… like getting a small piece of her back for a moment.

Not only did this sweet machine help nme knock out all 27 hats, but afterward I even made this fun little knot tote bag just because I didn’t want to stop sewing. 🪡

I have a feeling Grandma’s Singer may officially be back in business at Rustic Chic Color — and I don’t think my modern machine is too happy about it.

From dated green to soft linen perfection 🤍✨

This antique cabinet just got the Rustic Chic Color treatment and the transformation is absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The updated linen finish completely brightened and modernized the piece while still keeping all of its vintage charm and character.

It felt so good to paint furniture again — and I am obsessed with how this finish turned out. The subtle layering, soft texture, and updated hardware details gave this cabinet a whole new life. Best of all, the client just picked it up and absolutely LOVES it!

Furniture transformations like this are such a reminder that older pieces can become stunning statement pieces with the right vision and finish.

And as a reminder — I do offer custom furniture refinishing! There is a custom order section right on my website if you have a piece you’d love to update instead of replace❤️

What a FUN morning spent creating with such an amazing group of ladies! 🌿💗 Thank you all so much for joining me for today’s succulent class at Luxe. Watching everyone’s personalities come through in their pots and arrangements is honestly my favorite part of these workshops. I truly appreciate every single person who takes time out of their busy schedule to come create with me.

A special thank you goes to my husband for jumping in and helping me today! 😂 He technically can retire in four years… but honestly, I know better than that. Wishful thinking, I suppose. At this point, I’m already planning all the future classes he’ll be helping with once Rustic Chic Color officially steals him full-time. A little behind-the-scenes learning moment from this weekend’s resin class 👇

When working with epoxy resin, your piece is still very much “alive” after class. It takes a full 2–3 days to completely cure, which means during transport it’s so important to keep your board completely flat (think pizza box + floorboard of your vehicle—no tilting!).

If a board shifts even slightly, the resin will continue to move since it’s self-leveling, and you can end up with the “drip effect” you see here.

The good news? It’s fixable 🙌

Accidents happen (life happens!), and if this does occur, I’m always happy to help. I can add another layer of epoxy and recreate the waves to get your board looking beautiful again.

If you were in this class and need a little touch-up, feel free to drop your board off at my home in Legend Oaks Plantation and I’ll take care of it.

Honestly… this just gives me another excuse to play and create 😍 and my goal is always for every single person to walk away LOVING their finished piece.

Thank you all again for such an amazing class 💙

SOLD OUT + sunshine + SO much creativity ☀️✨

Today’s Beach Wave Resin class was one for the books 🤍
Perfect weather, beautiful boards, and the best group of people—I loved getting to meet so many new faces and create together!

This is exactly why I do what I do 💙

I also want to give a huge, heartfelt THANK YOU to a few of you who stepped in to lend a hand today. I’ll be honest—my head was a little foggy and I wasn’t quite keeping up like I normally do, and your kindness and willingness to jump in did not go unnoticed. It truly meant so much to me and is such a reflection of the amazing community we have built here.

With these classes continuing to sell out, I’m realizing it may be time to bring in an extra set of hands for future workshops so I can continue to give everyone the best experience possible.

I’m a little behind on getting new classes up (working on it 🙃), but they’re coming in the next couple of days… and trust me, you’re gonna want in 👀

Classes have been selling out FAST, so if you haven’t already—go sign up for my newsletter on the website so you’re the first to know when they drop!

More fun coming very soon ✨
