If you purchased a fair ticket online to be picked up at Sullivan Independent News, you can pick them up until end of day Friday. After Friday evening the online purchased tickets will be at the fair main gate will call table.

Sullivan’s Own Austin Shay To Open Friday Night At Meramec Community Fair Before Sara Evans

The Meramec Community Fair is pleased to announce, Sullivan’s own, Austin Shay will open Friday night, June 26, before Sara Evans performance!
Austin Shay is a Nashville‑based artist, producer, and multi‑instrumentalist from Sullivan, Missouri. Known for emotionally honest songwriting and a genre‑blending pop sound, he blends pop, alternative, and indie pop‑rock influences shaped by artists like Vacations, Clairo, John Mayer, Boy Pablo, and Rex Orange County.

A former college football player, Shay discovered music after injuries ended his athletic career. The process of preparing an application for Icon Collective — which required original songs — pushed him to begin writing for the first time. When COVID shut down the program before he could attend, he returned to Missouri and continued developing his craft independently, releasing his debut single “As Long As I Can” and his EP “Lights, Camera, Action!”.

Shay’s evolution culminated in his 2026 album “Starts With Goodbye”, a project that captures his transition from small‑town athlete to full‑time artist. His work is defined by vulnerability, melody, and a modern pop edge, offering a sound that feels both intimate and cinematic.

The Meramec Community Fair is in search for their 2026 Queen & her court! Our first information meeting will be held Tuesday 5/26 @ 7 pm at the main stage of the fair grounds! No applications or prior paperwork will be due at this meeting as it is just an informational meeting and applications will be discussed then! If you’re wanting to participate in this years queen scholarship program please be sure to be in attendance to this meeting or contact Natalie @ 6367442538 to make other arrangements!
