Today, we close the doors on a cherished chapter in Suffolk's history as Morgan Memorial Library serves its final day before making way for an exciting new beginning.

For generations, Morgan Memorial Library has been more than a building, it has been a place of learning, discovery, connection, and community. We extend our deepest gratitude to the Morgan family for their vision, generosity, and lasting legacy. Their commitment to literacy and education has touched countless lives and helped shape our community for decades.

While it is bittersweet to say goodbye to this beloved space, we look forward with excitement to the future. On June 27, we will open the doors to the new Downtown Suffolk Library, continuing the mission of serving our residents while creating new opportunities for learning, innovation, and connection.

Thank you to everyone who has made memories within these walls. As one chapter closes, another begins, and we can't wait to welcome you to the next chapter of library service in Suffolk.

📚 Morgan Memorial Library will close at 5 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2026, as Suffolk Public Library staff prepare for the opening of the new Downtown Suffolk Library.

During the transition:
• The 24-hour item returns at Morgan Memorial Library will remain open through June 26.
• Items checked out from Morgan Memorial Library will not be due until June 29.
• Online services will remain available.
