The Master Gary Foster has left us… LA and the world was blessed with his sublime musicianship, wit and kindness. It was his recommendation that led to my recording The Peacocks on my first Telarc record- 25 years ago…His beautiful flute solo is here. He also played a killer sax solo on Donna Lee. God Bless you dear dear man.

I got to do one of my favorite things today: produce a vocal with a talented singer and a great engineer. 😁🎉🥳

OK NYC… after my snarky “everything’s better in Paris but getting on the subway” crack, you’ve got me eating my words… In a 50hour window, I heard more virtuosic, heartfelt,funny, moving and flat-out great performances, at 5 venues… and had the blessing myself to sing with and Pasquale Grasso, James Chirillo and Frank Vignola..then scoot upstairs to hear a set by the masterful , despite truly horrific weather… NYC has taken a commanding lead.

Vilray was one of the terrific songwriters there.. and he performed this song.. of which I was already a fan…❤️ Hate is the Basis of Love

to be fair… i just ate the finest sushi I’ve tasted in years.. for $13. .

Emotional and beautiful day at St. Peter’s celebrating the life of one of the greatest musicians and most delightful humans I have ever known, Ken Peplowski.
one bar of his clarinet sound, and I was tearing up(and that’s always been true)… David Ostwald filled the program with bits of Ken’s stunning performances and— maybe even more important—Ken’s comedy timing…I think we all had the profound feeling of Ken’s presence.
