This morning, we celebrated with a ribbon cutting of the newly updated Charlie Leighton Park in Palm City!

This community favorite now features a beautiful new boardwalk, pavilions, native landscaping and additional parking. New park benches will soon be added for more places to sit, relax and enjoy the outdoors.

We’re excited to see visitors enjoying this refreshed waterfront space for years to come!

🚌 A very exciting day! 😃 Our new 30-foot Gillig Low Floor has arrived!

This one is especially meaningful, knowing how much work went on behind the scenes to get here.

Federal grant funding comes with a lot of responsibility. There are countless details that have to come together to make sure those funds are properly managed and used as intended before a bus ever hits the road.

And now, that work has resulted in something people can actually see and use... a new bus that will help provide reliable and accessible transportation for the people who depend on our system!

It’s rewarding to see all that hard work come together. We have the best team! 👏

🌿 Vegetation Management Work at East Fork Creek STA 🌿

The Environmental Resource Division will begin mechanical invasive vegetation removal within the East Fork Creek STA area on September 14. Work is anticipated to continue through September 21.

Mechanical removal is an important tool for restoring areas heavily dominated by invasive vegetation. By reducing dense invasive growth, this work helps:

🌱 Reduce competition with native plants
🦋 Improve habitat diversity
🌿 Create opportunities for native vegetation to recover and become reestablished
🦌 Provide better habitat, cover, and foraging opportunities for native wildlife

🚧 Please use caution: Crews and heavy equipment may be actively operating within designated work areas during this period. Please follow all posted signage and observe any temporary access restrictions.
