Happy Engineerโs Week ๐ฃ๏ธ๐ง๐
Celebrating the people who turn muddy ditches into drainage systems, traffic into smooth rides and ideas into real roads you can drive on. Civil engineering isnโt just plans on paper โ itโs teamwork, late nights and seeing a community improve one project at a time.
Proud of the work, proud of the CAPTEC crew and excited for the next set of plans to get approved. ๐

๐ฟ World Wetlands Day ๐ฟ
Wetlands are more than just beautiful landscapes โ theyโre critical infrastructure designed by nature. From flood protection and water quality improvement to habitat preservation and shoreline resilience, wetlands play a key role in sustainable civil engineering.
As engineers, we work to protect, restore, and integrate wetlands into our projects by balancing development with environmental responsibility. Smart drainage design, resilient infrastructure, and thoughtful planning all start with respecting natural systems.
Today, we celebrate wetlands for the vital role they play in protecting communities and shaping a more resilient future. ๐ง๐

A new way to explore the outdoors is coming soon to the City of Port St. Lucie! ๐ฅณ
Construction on Wilderness Park, 2701 SE Westmoreland Blvd., is set to begin this month and is expected to be completed by the fall.
Improvements will include:
โก๏ธ A 2.1-mile, 10-foot-wide concrete trail that can be used for walking, biking and enjoying nature. ๐ดโโ๏ธ
โก๏ธ A new restroom building with a covered pavilion, picnic tables and a drinking fountain for comfort and convenience. ๐งบ
โก๏ธ Enhanced landscaping featuring native and ornamental plantings to create a beautiful, sustainable environment. ๐ณ
The new trail will make it easier than ever to travel between The Saints Golf Course Port St. Lucie and The Port District, and then connect to the Boardwalk for access to other parks and restaurants along the scenic St. Lucie River.
This project was supported in part by a $500,000 Recreational Trails grant from the Florida Department of Environmental Protection. It reflects the Cityโs ongoing commitment to ensuring residents have access to parks, green spaces and recreation opportunities across Port St. Lucie.
