On May 12th, the Martin MPO staff attended and presented during the 2026 Treasure Coast Peer Exchange. This inaugural event was hosted by FDOT Southeast Florida to promote regional coordination and to also serve as a forum for sharing ideas amongst different Treasure Coast agency representatives!

On April 23rd, the Treasure Coast Transportation Council (TCTC), comprised of representatives from the Martin MPO, Indian River MPO and St. Lucie Transportation Planning Organization, met in Stuart, FL to discuss regional transportation in an effort to advance the transportation network in and throughout the Treasure Coast area! The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), with the assistance of the Martin MPO, will be hosting an Open House to discuss FDOT’s Proposed Alternative for the US-1 at SW Palm City Road Intersection. The meeting will take place at The Flagler of Stuart, 201 SW Flagler Avenue, on December 10, 2025 from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM. If you are heading out for Halloween on foot or by car, please keep these safety tips in mind:
👀 Be alert for trick-or-treaters and other pedestrians.
🐌 Drive slowly and scan the road. Remember that slow speeds save lives.
📱 If you see a drunk driver, contact law enforcement.
👭 Create a "buddy system" to get each other home safely.
🚦 Follow the rules of the road by obeying signs and signals.
🚶 If possible, cross the streets at crosswalks or intersections. Look for cars in all directions, including those turning left or right.

For those attending Halloween Parties:
🚗 Before drinking, choose a designated driver or schedule a rideshare.
🍹 If you drink, do not drive for any reason. Even a small amount of alcohol can affect driving ability.
🌟 Be responsible! It takes everyone to ensure we all get home safely.

October has been a busy month for MPO staff! 🌟

This month Martin MPO Staff:
🚦 Joined the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for a Road Safety Audit (RSA) along US-1.
📄 Adopted our Long Range Transportation Plan.
🚶🏻‍♀️ Held a Walk & Roll to School Day at Jensen Beach Elementary School.
🌿 Participated in a walkthrough of the East Coast Greenway with Martin County Staff and a member of the East Coast Greenway Alliance.
🌟Attended the Jupiter Riverwalk and East Coast Greenway Marker Designation Ceremony.
🚲 Hosted a Walk & Roll to School Day at J.D. Parker Elementary School.

The Martin MPO joins the U.S. Department of Transportation's National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's (NHTSA) in reminding you to drive sober every trip.🌟

This Halloween, plan ahead - designate a sober driver or use a rideshare. Getting home safely is always worth it. 🎃🏠

Legend says cats have nine lives, but you only have one. 🐈 Don’t cut your life short by drinking and driving on Halloween. ⚰
