This week is National Police Week, a week created to thank officers across the country who risk their lives to protect their communities. This week we show our support for our nation’s police officers who put a badge on each day, knowing they may face extremely dangerous situations while carrying out their duties.

We recognize and thank all the brave men and women of the Stuart Police Department and Martin County Sheriff's Office who protect and serve our communities to keep our county safe day after day! We are also thankful for agencies like Martin County Police Athletic League, which is a crime prevention community program designed to provide alternatives to drugs, crime, delinquency and violence through sports and mentoring. Thank you for leading this week of recognition of our local officers!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers reading this and especially to my daughters. Watching them grow into incredible mothers has been the best gift I can ask for.

I am truly lucky to work hand in hand everyday with my daughter Erica. For almost 32 years, we have managed to run a successful business were we have learned to change with the times and technology.
