Functional Neurology and Rehabilitation, with Fellowship training in Childhood Neurodevelopmental Disorders and board certified in the Melillo Method.
Our mission is to provide solutions for those suffering where other healthcare options have failed.
ADHD in kids is not always just a focus problem. For many children, the brain may be struggling with regulation, timing, attention, and impulse control.
In this reel, Dr. Leo Hart explains how the right hemisphere plays an important role in helping kids pause, process, and respond instead of reacting.
When you add in possible stressors like diet, inflammation, or environmental toxicity, the nervous system may have even more difficulty staying regulated.
At Brain Space, we look deeper at the patterns behind the behavior.
Latching is one of the first patterns a baby learns.
It is not just about nutrition. A strong, coordinated latch can support breathing, digestion, oral motor development, and the parasympathetic “rest and digest” state.
When that system is working well, babies are better able to regulate, calm, and grow.
Dr. Leo Hart explains why these early patterns are worth paying attention to.
Dr. Boss recently took some time to break down primitive reflexes in a way that is easy to understand, helping explain why these early movement patterns can play such an important role in development, coordination, and overall function.
Mason was told he would never walk, never talk, and never eat on his own.
Today, he is moving, laughing, running, and showing the world that limits written too early do not always tell the full story.
He is one of our favorite patients not just because of how far he has come, but because of the joy, fight, and heart he brings with him every time we see him.
Functional developmental neurology has opened the door to meaningful progress for so many patients. Our hope is that more practitioners worldwide continue to recognize these treatment successes and help spread awareness that there can be paths to recovery beyond traditional models.
Dr. Paul Boss recently shared insights into Zayd’s journey with us, walking through the therapies and approach behind his care. Watching his progress unfold, and seeing more of his smile each day, is what this work is all about.
This is a story of real progress, in a matter of weeks, for one of our patients.
Amelia, a 17-year-old on the autism spectrum, has made remarkable strides in only three weeks through our developmental functional neurology approach. Amelia and her mom have been through challenging times for years, trying many therapies.
When care is targeted, consistent, and personalized, meaningful change can happen faster than most expect.
Have you heard of the bottom-up approach to developmental neurology?
It’s a principle we use often when working with patients experiencing developmental delays or neurological dysfunction. The idea is that higher-level brain functions depend on the strength and stability of more fundamental systems in the brain and nervous system.
Rather than only focusing on symptoms, the bottom-up approach works to support and strengthen these foundational neurological processes first. When those systems improve, many higher-level functions like coordination, focus, and learning can improve as well.
It’s an approach that guides much of the work we do to help patients build stronger neurological foundations and achieve better long-term outcomes.

Toe walking in children isn't just a habit. 🦶
It can signal retained primitive reflexes, sensory processing issues, or muscle imbalances that affect long-term development.
If your child toe walks consistently past age two, schedule a developmental assessment.
We'll evaluate neurological function, reflex integration, and postural control to create a care plan that addresses the root cause, not just the symptom. 💡

Care should be personal. Often times we see families who have exhausted all options, looking for help and answers everywhere.
Dr. Leo Hart believes the best outcomes come from treating every patient the same way you would treat family, which is with attention, honesty, and a commitment to doing what’s truly best for their health.
That philosophy has guided his work for decades, and it remains at the core of everything we do at Brain Space.
