Four-Day Botanical Print Immersion

November 10–13, 2026 | Stuart, Florida

Spend four full days exploring the richly layered world of botanical printing.

Students will move beyond simple leaf impressions to investigate cloth preparation, mordants, tannins, color modifiers, bundling methods, composition, and the many variables that influence a successful print. With time to experiment, evaluate, and print again, students can begin developing a process and visual language of their own.

**Looking for Lunch Catering Near Murphy, Copperhill or Ducktown**

I’m looking for a dependable local person or small catering business to prepare lunches for a fiber art retreat at **Wagonmaster Ranch, off Highway 294**, between **October 13–22, 2026**.

We will have approximately **12 people** and will probably need lunch on **7 of the 10 retreat days**.

Nothing ultra-fancy is needed—just fresh, healthy food such as sandwiches, wraps, salads, soups, fruit, and similar lunch options. There is a kitchen at the ranch, so we can refrigerate and store prepared salads or other dishes. We do not need food service or setup—only dependable preparation and delivery.

Someone who prepares food from a home kitchen is also welcome to contact me, provided they can reliably accommodate the group.

The ranch has a Murphy address but is also convenient to the **Copperhill and Ducktown** areas.

Please contact me with your availability, sample menu ideas, delivery options, and approximate pricing. Local recommendations are also greatly appreciated!

KATAZOME- Japanese Paste Resist with Suzanne Connors
Mon, November 17-21, 2025

The traditional Japanese art of katazome is ancient. Kata means stencil and zome is a form of the word someru which means to dye- hence katazome (stencil dyeing)

The basic process of stencil dyeing is not complicated. First, a stencil is cut and placed on a piece of fabric. Next resist paste is applied through the stencil. The

Stencil is then removed, and the pasted fabric is allowed to dry in the sunlight. Fabric is then treated with sizing if going to be dyed with pigments. Fabric is then dyed or the color pigments brushed on. These workshops will be using Indigo Dye.

Finally, the fabrics soaked in water to remove the paste.
