I've dealt with imposter syndrome.
Honestly... I still do sometimes.
That voice that whispers:
"Eventually, they're going to figure out I don't know what I'm doing."
Maybe you've heard it too.
The truth is, sometimes imposter syndrome is a warning that you're pretending to be someone you're not.
But more often?
It's comparison.
You look at people who are ten years ahead of you and convince yourself you don't belong.
You may not be an imposter.
You may simply be believing the lie before you cross the next threshold.
🎙️ Listen to the latest episode of The Forged Man's Podcast (link in bio) as we unpack what imposter syndrome really is, why it happens, and how to build confidence by faithfully doing the work in front of you.

I've dealt with imposter syndrome. I'm sure you probably have too.
Sometimes, we ask ourselves, "Long enough timeline...they'll figure me out."
Are you actually an imposter, or is that the lie and doubt creeping in?
If you've wrestled with imposter syndrome at work, wondered what is imposter syndrome at work, searched how to get over imposter syndrome, or even looked into cognitive behavioral therapy for imposter syndrome, this conversation is for you.
Now, there are times where it's real and a signal that you're in a spot you shouldn't be in. If you tell people how to make a million dollars but you've never made more than a hundred bucks in a day, then that imposter syndrome is legit.
But I see a lot of people feel like imposters because they think everyone else has it all figured out. They think everyone else is 100% on top of everything.
There is a way to beat imposter syndrome.
It's seeing yourself truthfully.
You may not be an imposter.
You may simply be comparing yourself to the wrong people or believing the lie before you cross the next threshold.
Listen to the latest episode of The Forged Man Podcast and discover why confidence isn't something you wait for—it's something you build by faithfully doing the work in front of you.

Wondering how to rest? Look, rest is important. We just don't realize it because we think there's just too many things to get done before we can rest.
There is a reason God created a Sabbath.
Check out how rest is important, what keeps you from resting, and how to get some quality rest....like God intended.
How to Rest | Why Rest Is Important for Christian Men How can I rest when there is always more to do? For many men, rest feels impossible. There are projects to finish, bills to pay, responsibilities to carry, and a constant pressure to keep moving. "I always fail"
"Everything's against me"
"I'll never get ahead"
They don't just stay in your head.
Pessimistic thinking fuels chronic inflammation, spikes cortisol, disrupts hormones, and can even shorten your life.
Not just that, but it increases risks for heart disease, cancer, stubborn belly fat, and more.
A 35-year study showed pessimism at age 25 predicted poorer health decades later.
But there is good news. You can legitimately, and forever get rid of those negative, accusatory thoughts.
Scripture calls us to renew our minds (Romans 12:2) and take every thought captive (2 Corinthians 10:5).
We're told by Scripture to think on that which is good, to have faith, and to rely on the Lord. This starts with the thoughts we allow to have purchase in our minds.
Practical tools like the ABCDE Method, decatastrophizing, and reframing the "Three P’s" can help you shift from pessimism to purpose.
