Only at Atlas does a PT session turn into an airshow.

One of my patients and my daughter Dorothy — taking turns flying a paper airplane between exercises. Some of the best moments here are the ones nobody planned.

This is one of my favorite things about what we’ve built here. People come in to work on their health and somewhere along the way they end up laughing with a two year old over a paper airplane. That’s not a distraction from the work. That’s the environment that makes the work possible.

People heal faster when they feel comfortable. When they actually enjoy showing up. When the place they’re coming to doesn’t feel clinical and cold and rushed.

We built Atlas to be different. Dorothy is just making sure we stay that way. ✈️

Most people see two older women doing balance exercises. I see two people who are choosing to fight for their independence. When did you last do something that challenged your balance?

Balance isn’t something that just disappears with age. It’s a skill. And like any skill, it responds to training. The problem is that most people don’t take it seriously until after a fall forces the conversation.

These two aren’t waiting for that conversation. They’re having this one instead.

Independence isn’t lost all at once. It’s protected one rep at a time.

This one is for the person who sits at a desk for eight hours a day, carries the weight of a demanding job on their shoulders — literally — and keeps telling themselves they’ll deal with the tightness, the headaches, and the nagging back pain when things slow down.

Things never slow down. You know that.

I see this person constantly. High performing, driven, capable of managing everything except their own body. By the time they come see me the tension in their neck has been there for two years. The low back pain flares up every few months. Their hip flexors are so tight they can’t stand up straight without their low back compensating.

None of it happened overnight. And none of it is going to fix itself.
Here’s what I tell them: you manage your schedule, your team, your deadlines, and your finances with precision. Your body deserves the same level of attention. It is the one asset you cannot replace.

A single evaluation at Atlas will tell you more about what’s happening in your body than years of ignored symptoms ever could. One hour. Real answers. A clear path forward.

You’ve put it off long enough.

Only at Atlas does a treatment session turn into story time.
This is one of my patients getting cupping therapy on her back.
That’s my daughter Dorothy sitting next to her, very seriously making sure the book gets read correctly.

Dorothy saw someone sitting still and considered it an open invitation. Three year olds don’t ask permission.

This is what I love most about what we’ve built here. People don’t come to Atlas and feel like they’re in a clinical setting. They come in, they get to work, and somewhere along the way it starts to feel less like a healthcare appointment and more like a place they actually want to be.

A three year old with a book and a patient mid-treatment. Just another day at Atlas.

Not your typical PT appointment.

This is one of my patients working through his shoulder rehab on the mat. That wiggling baby next to him is mine.

This is just Atlas. A real practice, inside a real gym, run by a real family. Some days that means a baby on the mat during a session. Some days it means a toddler wandering through the door. Our patients don’t just tolerate it — most of them love it.

There’s something about this environment that strips away the clinical sterility that makes most people dread going to PT. People show up here relaxed. They work harder. They stay longer. They actually enjoy the process.

That’s not an accident. That’s intentional.

Functional strength assessment. Atlas edition.

My wife can carry a baby strapped to her chest and a toddler on each hip — that’s a 35 pound static hold in each arm while wearing a 15 pound weight vest. For hours. Without complaining. While also running a business and keeping three tiny humans (mostly) content.

As a Doctor of Physical Therapy I can confirm: this is an advanced training protocol. I do not recommend attempting it without proper conditioning.

I’ve tried it. My form needs work.

If your goals are slightly more modest than Anna’s, we can help with that too. Link in bio to schedule your evaluation.

One in four adults over 65 will fall this year.
And for many of them, that fall is the beginning of a very different life.

I don’t say that to scare anyone. I say it because most people have no idea their balance is declining until something goes wrong. By the time a fall happens, the window to prevent it has already closed.

The woman in this clip is in her 80s. She is here, she is working, and she is doing something about it before it becomes a problem. That takes courage and it takes wisdom — and it is never, ever too late.

Balance is a skill. Like any skill, it can be trained, improved, and maintained at any age. It just has to be taken seriously before a fall forces the conversation.

If you or someone you love is over 60 and hasn’t had a balance assessment, come see us. It might be the most important appointment you make this year.

Hip pain is one of those things people learn to live around.

They stop sitting on the floor. They modify their golf swing. They skip the morning walk because the first few steps hurt too much. They tell themselves it’s just age, just wear and tear, just something they have to manage.

It doesn’t have to be that way.

SoftWave Therapy uses unfocused shockwaves to stimulate your body’s own healing response at the cellular level — promoting new blood vessel formation, reducing inflammation, and repairing damaged tissue at the source. We’re not masking the pain. We’re addressing what’s causing it.

Hip bursitis, IT band syndrome, hip flexor tendinopathy, chronic joint pain — these are conditions that respond exceptionally well to SoftWave, especially when combined with targeted physical therapy to correct the movement patterns that contributed to the problem in the first place.

Non-invasive. No downtime. And results that speak for themselves.
If hip pain has been quietly changing the way you live your life — come see us.

Some days the baby is on the mat, the toddlers are somewhere being toddlers, and I have exactly 20 minutes to move my body. So that’s what I do.

I’m 3 months postpartum with our third child. Three kids 3 & under. A business to run alongside my husband. A household that doesn’t run itself. I could list every reason not to show up for myself today — and some days those reasons feel very loud.

But then I look at what’s on the mat next to me.
They’re not my excuse. They’re my why.

I move because I want to be strong for them. Because I want to show them what it looks like to take care of yourself even when it’s hard. Because I know better than most — married to a Doctor of Physical Therapy will do that to you — that the investment you make in your body today is the one that pays off for decades.

Postpartum recovery isn’t about bouncing back. It’s about moving forward — carefully, intentionally, and on your own timeline. Some days that looks like a full workout. Some days it’s 10 minutes on the mat while the baby watches.

Both count. Show up anyway.

Nobody thinks about their rotator cuff until it’s torn.

The rotator cuff is four small muscles that do one enormous job — keeping your shoulder stable and functional through every push, pull, throw, and overhead movement you make. And yet it’s one of the most undertrained muscle groups in the gym.

Most people skip direct rotator cuff work because it doesn’t look impressive. The weights are light, the movements are subtle, and it’s easy to convince yourself you don’t need it. I thought the same thing once.

Then I started seeing what happens to shoulders that skip this work for decades. Tears, impingement, chronic pain, surgeries that could have been avoided. I program rotator cuff work for my patients and I do it myself — every week, without exception.

Your shoulder is only as strong as the muscles holding it together. Train accordingly.
