Day 5 and last of the Florida Training for Emergency Management Symposium is underway. Today we’re hearing keynote speakers such as Ken Graham, Director of the National Weather Service, Kevin Guthrie, Executive Director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management, and the Lt. Governor, Jay Collins! We’re excited to come home to Martin County and apply everything we learned.

It’s Day 4 at the Florida Training for Emergency Management Symposium and today we’re celebrating our partners. We’re here with Shauna from the Florida Department of Health Martin County and we ran into Enrique, the Florida Division of Emergency Management Recovery Coordinator who assisted us in Martin County during . Also, a big thank you to all the sponsors of the conference who provided us fuel (coffee, food, and snacks) throughout the conference.

Day 3 at the Florida Training for Emergency Management Symposium and we’re continuing our learning and networking. Today we got a chance to visit the Logistics Expo and Collin visited the Florida Central Operations and Coordination Office. Sally and Amy are taking the Florida Senior Officials course, a requirement of Senate Bill 180.

It’s Day 2 at the Florida Training for Emergency Management Symposium and already this morning has been packed with great information from our keynote speakers.
Sally, Amy, Collin, and Lisandra heard from Kevin Guthrie, Executive director of the Florida Division of Emergency Management, Gene Deckerhoff, former FSU and Buccaneers Broadcaster, Captain Peter Dziubla from DC Hazmat, Rob Ash, acting FEMA Region 4 Administrator, and Governor Ron DeSantis. What a lineup!

Yesterday was the first day of the 3rd Annual Florida Training for Emergency Management Symposium and Sally, Amy, Collin, and Lisandra spent the day learning about logistics, leadership, and Public Assistance. At the end of the day, we celebrated the work we’ve done all year to prepare for the start of with a luau.

To prepare for , Susana conducted a training for our evacuation transportation staff. These are the heroes who figure out how to get every special needs client who is registered to a shelter before a disaster, if they require transportation.

We're all about for the upcoming ! This month, Amy conducted a training and exercise for our Emergency Operations Center and Community Information Center staff.
Its is a privilege to have such awesome like the US National Weather Service Melbourne Florida, and Emergency Management from Okeechobee Emergency-Management St. Lucie County and to help us out during our scenario.
