Natural evolution is as creative as it is necessary. And that in the urban fabric, life that imitates nature is more successful and beautifying than without.

This beautiful lecture celebrates the research between and found in their collaborative book together | The Art of Architectural Grafting | L’art de Greffer En Architecture | an explorative work during his residency as result of the Mondrian Initiative Prize. His work is profound, funny, inquisitive and at times, poignant and thought-provoking.

What if we learned to see nature as its own set stage and let it play while we did? What if we harmoniously existed and saw it for the wonder and art that it truly is?

I had the pleasure of doing an awesome small business session for Monica who, through yoga and instruction, has found her passion. She believes it’s incredibly important for women to have an outlet like this and has even found help for her own health battles through it. She hopes to make that attainable for others who might be in the pain position. I was so excited to help her bring forward her vision and am extremely happy with how things turned out!

Harmony Within, Monica’s company, will be online soon and she cannot wait to share her love for yoga, its versatility for all ages, and her expertise with you when it does!

Enjoy these images from the recent Presentation and book launch of Félix Candela from Mexico City to Chicago: Rise and Fall of Experimentation in Concrete by designer, theorist, and educator Alexander Eisenschmidt and book contributors Geoff Goldberg, Jonathan Miller, and Kathryn E. O’Rourke at The Graham Foundation and The School of Architecture at UIC.

The panel discussed the impactful influences Candela’s work has had on media and the movies, design, structural design, and history in Chicago and globally.

His talk peeled back the layers of design with which his work was created and gave the audience a wonderful insight to the commitment and passion he operates with everyday!

Peter Zumthor X Allmannajuvet Zine Mine Museum

Designed as a tribute to the history of zinc mining in Saudi, Norway. The building contains books devoted to the studies of Norway’s history including, but not limited to the ecology, geology, and architecture of the area. It brings timeless artifacts quite literally into the light and gives the occupant the brilliant experience of an impeccable reveal towards the vista below.

hosted the formal event for Naomi Po***ck’s | The Japanese since 1945 | Book Release at Wrightwood 659 June 13th, 2024. Designed by world reknowed Japanese architect Tadao Ando, Wrightwood 659 set a perfect stage and theme for the subject matter of Po***ck’s book.

After living in Japan for 30 years, raising her family, and continuing her architectural design career, Naomi Po***ck brought her research, and a meditative, heartfelt appreciation for the life of design in Japan, into each reader’s lap. In conjunction with the current exhibition, Chryssa & New York, Po***ck’s presentation found home and resonance within the walls designed by of one of Japan’s greats.

The beauty of at and ! The Prize allowed students of the architecture college to have a one-on-one review with the highly experienced and insightful jury members of MCHAP’s 2024 Cycle 5.

The 5 judges, Maurice Cox, Giovanna Borazon, Gregg Pasquarelli, Sofia von Ellrichshausen, and Mauricio Rocha gave their thoughts on today’s architectural culture, developing movement and trends, and hopes for the future of students coming into the working world. This student led jury closed out the events of MCHAP’s programming at IIT last week.
