One client. 15 hours saved every week. 98 percent accuracy on a task that used to need a full-time review.

The bookkeeper who spent three hours a day on reconciliation now spends 20 minutes. The rest of the time she handles month-end work that used to spill into the next week.

This is not a future-of-work story. It is a Wednesday afternoon story. The tools are here and well understood. The only missing piece for most firms is someone in the room who knows where to start.

If you got 15 hours a week back, what would your team actually do with it?

Topic of the Week at Verve: The Great Map Divide!

The votes are in and it's not close. Google Maps dominating, Apple Maps holding on for dear life, Bing got exactly one vote (respect), and Yahoo Maps got crossed off the board entirely 💀

Are you Team Apple or Team Google... and why?

Most state and federal grant applications now include a technology section. Some require it explicitly. Most nonprofits answer it the same way: they leave it blank or write something vague.

Five things that turn a vague answer into a fundable one:

1. Documented data security policy (one page is enough)
2. Evidence of regular backup testing (date matters)
3. Multi-factor authentication on all systems with client data
4. Staff security awareness training records
5. A named person responsible for data privacy

If you are working on a Q3 grant cycle, this matters now. Comment GRANT and we will send the template that funded one of our clients last cycle.

"Today's struggle: lagging laptop, dead wifi, frozen screen, existential crisis."

We saw this meme and it described half our client intake calls.

Here is what we have learned: by the time someone calls us in survival mode, the actual fix is usually a 20-minute change a previous IT person never made. Endpoint protection that was never deployed. A backup job that never ran. A user still in the admin group from 2021.

You should not have to be in crisis to talk to your IT provider.

What is the smallest tech problem you are putting up with right now because nobody has time to fix it? Drop it in the comments.

Throwback to last Friday, when Verve IT partnered with Port City Marketing to sponsor the 2026 APL Unleashed Poker Run, an annual boating event on the San Joaquin Delta benefiting the Animal Protection League of Stockton.

The event brought together boaters and sponsors from across the region in support of APL's mission caring for the animals at Stockton Animal Shelter. Verve IT was proud to be part of a strong lineup of local sponsors helping make the day possible.

Thanks to Port City Marketing for the partnership, and to APL for their continued work on behalf of Stockton's animals.

What a great way to spend a Monday. Verve IT was out at Woodbridge Country Club supporting the NAIFA golf tournament benefiting the Emergency Food Bank, and we brought our Tacos & Tees activation, cannon and all.

Between the tacos, the cannon, and a whole lot of good energy on the course, we were proud to help raise over $500 for a cause that makes a real difference for families in our community.

Grateful for events like this that bring local business and nonprofit work together. Thanks to NAIFA and everyone who came out to support the Emergency Food Bank.

Vice President of Sales Chad Sublet and his wife Madeline were honored to sit at the head table for the All Armed Forces Ball, celebrating 250 years of freedom right here in Stockton, and to top it off, they got to watch thier daughter model in the event.

He had the chance to speak on "The Evolution of the American Warrior," reflecting on military history from the Revolutionary War to present.
Getting to do that alongside Major General (Ret.) Eldon Regua, astronaut José Hernández, and so many veterans who gave decades of their lives to service, was an unforgettable moment

Huge thanks to American Legion Karl Ross Post 16 and the Greater Stockton Chamber for putting on such a meaningful event. Grateful for this community and everyone who serves it.

Seventeen years ago we made a cold call to a women's shelter in Stockton. The Executive Director was running a 24-bed facility on AOL email with a board member doing IT "support" on weekends. Most cold calls end at hello. This one ended with a 15-year partnership.

What she told us at the time: "Better technology means we can serve more women." That was the whole strategy.

When she moved to another nonprofit years later, she called us back within six weeks. "Can you come do it again." We did.

This is what mission-aligned IT looks like. Not heroics. Not a single launch. Fifteen years of showing up.

Who is the partner that changed how you work? Tag them.

A nonprofit with 60 staff hires four people in a quarter. With manual onboarding, here is the usual timeline:

Day 1: laptop ready, no email
Day 3: email ready, no payroll access
Day 7: payroll works, but not the case management system
Day 14: fully provisioned

Meanwhile that same nonprofit forgot to revoke access for the program manager who left three months ago. Her login still works.

This is not a tech problem. It is a process problem. And the offboarding half is the one that shows up in an audit.

How long does it take a new hire at your org to get everything they need on day one?
