-A little over 20 years ago I became a rapper. A little over 10 years ago I became an artist. Today I’m just thankful that I’m still here, doing what I love, with people like myself, with zero expectations from the world. Truly Free. Great artists focus on their art, they “dig deeper” (Jack) purely for the love of art. Not money, or other artists. No amount of money can buy passion. I’ve seen countless rappers and friends lose their passion, fall out, fall off, let go, or get taken away from us too soon. I’ve been there, I’ve also been in situations that almost cost me my life. All because I was chasing someone else’ dream. But along the way I met a few people outside of the rap industry/culture who lacked everything I hated about it. Real artists, dancers, musicians with true passion, no ego. They just show up and deliver, with grace. They loved what they did and did what they loved with others like them. That was my real dream. Nothing fancy. Music is my first love, that’s why I create music. I’m thankful for them, this journey, and every single person who helped me or supported me along the way. Especially the individuals that work with me over the past 10 years. The producers and singers, dancers, actors and actresses, videographers, and real life friends who are always there. They helped me define who Remy R.E.D is. They made the dream come true. I just want to make you proud, while honoring the giants I was blessed to walk with who are no longer here.
Remember your dream, and let go of your expectations. Just give it all you got, with all your heart, and you will find people like yourself along the way. They’ll make it all worth it.

🩷 Febuary is Cancer Awareness month, this is my first pink hoodie and hat. My father is a cancer survivor, he was diagnosed with severe lymph node cancer about 10 years ago, underwent surgeries, radiation, and a ton of medication. My father put up a fight, for us, and by God’s grace; and caring hands of his doctors and nurses he’s still here with us. We’ve lost many family members and friends to cancer. I am no health expert by any stretch of the imagination, nor do I take good care of myself much. That I ashamedly admit. May this serve as a reminder that we don’t live for ourselves only, we live for the people we love; the ones who love us, and the ones who truly need us.
