Looks better after a good pressure wash. Wish this one was stored better 30+ years ago. The garage had fallen down around it.

Striping the car down to bare metal, doing body work, metal repair, and prep has too be one of the worst parts of restoring a 60yo car. I’m beyond stoked to have the first coat of epoxy primer on. She is all sealed up better than Ford did it. She’ll last another 60+ years.

I’m back! Sometimes life gets in the way. Had to sell the GT/CS and take a hiatus for a bit. But back on the 65 coupe. Stripped to bare metal and all metalwork done. Acid etched and will need more cleaning before expoxy coat is applied.

Typically on show cars I like to paint them all apart like ford did. But because this one is going to be silver and a driver. I Jammed behind the fenders to assemble them. Hood and trunk next.

5hrs to prep the cowl and an area that will never be seen. But the cowl drains right through here. Got to seal it up good with expoxy and I will use some seam sealer over that. Better than Ford did it!

Finished up the GT style trumpet 2 1/4 exhaust with patriot headers. With turbo 2 mufflers it’s quieter than expected but a nice change from my 68. Took it for a quick spin and all the upgrades are working great together. With the drive train done it’s time to blow the paint off and get some body work and paint done.

This car was supposed to be just a driver. With engine and drive train wrapping up. It’s looking a bit too nice. I might have to just build a be**er to drive one day. Engine fire up video coming soon
