Red Rabbit Advocacy would like to whole heartedly thank Habitat for Humanity is San Joaquin County for their generous donation to continue to build our vision for our unhoused, recovery and reentry community. As you can tell by my face I was shocked and so grateful for their generous contribution. This speaks to the hard work that my team puts forward every single day. I couldn’t do it without them. God Bless Habitat for Humanity.

I’m so proud of the Red Rabbit Family today. We served over 60 people today at the center. Showers, clothing, food, resources, good company, connection to outpatient services and sober living. Evalyn your planning and the team’s support to bring it all together was a beautiful thing to see. You all truly are an inspiration to so many people. I love you and I am grateful for each one of you. Gods got us and we will continue to be of service until He says we are done.

Today Red Rabbit Staff and volunteers went out to outreach people in the streets. Provided some Id vouchers, dog food, water, other items and most importantly love. This organization is a lived experience organization made up of people in recovery giving back and being of service to others who have not yet taken that step. I absolutely Love our team! We do things a little different, but it works!

I got to pick up my clients kids from the after school program yesterday and take them home to the babysitter because mom and dad are both working. It’s such a blessing to be able to see these little guys grow. I have been in JJ’s life for 3 years now and he is such a sweet boy. When Izzy saw me waiting for her she was so excited and she acts JUST LIKE HER MOMMA JANICE! Lol. Literal carbon copy. Jazz is such a sweetie and so smart. 🥰😍 I love my job!

Today when I got to the center, showers were wrapped up and there were still about 20 people inside who were either using the computers, socializing or waiting for their turn to be connected to services. Everyone was laughing and smiling and enjoying their life in that moment. It warmed my heart. The numbers are increasing daily. The other thing I witnessed was one of the girls we helped get into sober living was there doing her homework for Come Back Kids to get her diploma and I overheard her helping her friend through the same process we did with her to get off the streets and living a healthy life. Help one, teach one!

Teaching people how to be fishers of men is the goal. The numbers of people served will escape our collected data, but that is ok! The goal is to get people well again and even if we were the catalyst for that soul saved, we don’t do it for the numbers. We do it to be of service. I’m so proud of all the people who show up and spend the day with us and keep fighting for their lives.

It is with a heavy heart I share this loss. Rodger McGillivary, our friend and colleague, has gone home to the Lord. Rodger was a key piece of the puzzle in our efforts to help people get free of the grips of addiction through his work as the SUD Navigator at Dameron Hospital. Rodger was a light and support for many people and helped many many people turn their lives around from addiction to a new healthy path. We love you Rodger. Thank you for being a good human being.
