Meet our new officers!
Last Thursday the crew held elections for our 2026-27 officer core. Here is an introduction to the new officers including their name, major, year in school (2026-27), and their favorite tool. Huge shout out to our former officer core as well!!

BIG NEWS! Our very own fire effects officer is running or president of SAFE!! Student Association Of Fire Ecology is an organization that supports Fire effects research, and a great way to learn more about the benefits of fire on ecosystems! Join SAFE today to vote on 4/24!!

ONLY YOU CAN RUN FOR AN OFFICER POSITION! We are excited to be getting into the officer election season! Running for an officer position is a great way to get more involved in the crew!!

Cook county spring trip is it great way to learn all about urban natural resources management! Crews this year participating in seed bed construction, wildlife data collection, and of course prescribed burning! With other fun activities littered in between! This trip is a great way to find your footing in natural resources!

Congrats to all spring class graduates! Every spring, Fire Crew partners with the WI DNR to train a batch of new Wildland firefighters! These trainings leave students with a real feel for Wildland fire! Make sure to keep an eye out for this course next spring! Huge thanks to our partners at the !

Spring Broomball! This year it was a close game! All the forestry clubs came together with fisheries and wildlife societies for a close game! Surprising everyone, the wildlife and fisheries team pulled a head during the final quarter, scoring the two final points. All and all, a great time, thank you to everyone who attended!!

Congrats to UWSP Forestry Sports and their triumpant return as a club sport!

Registration For The Spring Wildland Firefighter Course Is now open! Every Spring, the UWSP Fire Crew and Wisconsin DNR hold this course that fully certifies students as a Firefighter Type II, qualifying them for state and federal wildfire jobs.
