Struggling with outdated systems, disconnected data, or slow-moving software projects? i3solutions helps enterprise IT teams modernize, integrate, and sc

By the time a Microsoft implementation looks like it is struggling, the cause is months old.

i3solutions reads three signals at the start of every engagement, before looking at a single solution. Each has a yes or no answer, and each answer predicts what the next 18 months hold.

Answer yes to all three and the first sprint builds features.

Answer no and the first sprint goes to remediation, before a single requirement is met.

Your SharePoint governance tools aren’t failing because they are weak. They’re failing because the architecture underneath them is chaotic.

Purview can apply retention. SharePoint Advanced Management can handle provisioning and access. Microsoft Entra ID can enforce identity. But none of them can compensate for years of organic site creation, unclear ownership, and content stored wherever teams happened to work.

That gap shows up during audit, discovery, or legal review. IT has to locate content, prove retention was applied, and explain ownership across sites that were never designed for that level of control.

The missing foundation is governance-first information architecture. It gives your tools a structure they can enforce, instead of sprawl they have to interpret. Retrofitting governance onto existing sprawl means untangling live sites, live permissions, and live habits. Building the structure first costs a fraction of that.
Skip this, and your next audit becomes a manual hunt for content no policy could ever reliably govern.

When the default Power Platform environment is running production workloads, the remediation work is already coming.

Separating dev, test, and prod after 40 apps are live is possible, but it is disruptive and expensive, and the first sprint goes to building infrastructure that should have been there before the project started.

The schedule is behind before a single user requirement is addressed.

The teams that avoid this made the decision before they needed it, because the governance infrastructure is what makes the platform mature.

You cannot build it after.

Your compliance framework has a single point of failure: people remembering to follow it.

The policies exist. The training happened. But whether those policies are followed consistently across hundreds of sites and thousands of documents depends entirely on human memory at scale.

And when provisioning is too slow, users route around it entirely, putting business data in channels the compliance framework doesn't even cover.

The organizations that pass audits confidently aren't the ones with better training.

Compliance that depends on human memory will eventually fail. Compliance that's built into the infrastructure won't.

A SharePoint policy can’t govern content that has no clear place to live. That's where the governance problem starts.

A project team creates a site. A department stores contracts in a shared library. A business unit keeps records beside active collaboration files. Each decision makes sense at the moment. The risk appears later, when ownership, metadata, permissions, retention, and content boundaries are unclear.

That is why SharePoint information architecture matters. It separates collaboration, publishing, and records spaces before governance has to enforce them. It gives Purview a structure it can actually use.

Mix records into collaboration space now, and every future retention rule and access review becomes guesswork.

Nine months in, the steering committee has asked for a recovery plan, and no one in the room agrees on what done looks like.

Most teams respond by working harder or adding people. Both make it worse.

There is a specific sequence that separates projects that recover from projects that replan and fail the same way.

It starts before anyone touches the schedule.

You migrated years of accumulated subsites, permissions nobody can explain, inconsistent retention, and abandoned sites with guest access still live.

The old servers came down and the project got marked complete. The governance model that created all of it moved to SharePoint Online untouched.

A newer platform running the old model produces the same old problems.

Connector policies applied to a live Power Platform environment break flows that were built to assume they never would.

Environment separation imposed after the fact removes access solutions depended on.

Ownership documentation required after deployment cannot be produced for integrations built by people who are no longer in the organization.

The remediation scope is never fully visible until a policy is applied and something stops working in production. That is not a governance failure. That is a sequencing failure.

Governance present at kickoff has a defined compliance surface. Governance retrofitted at scale has one that never fully closes.

Enterprise teams use "integration" to describe two things that fail in completely different ways.

A connector moves data. Workflow integration executes a business processes. The failure mode, the owner, and the fix are not interchangeable.

If your team is three weeks into a diagnosis with no resolution, the category was never identified. Getting it wrong at the start puts the wrong people in the room solving the wrong problem.
